Professor Pleasants is great! She is very sweet and really does like what she teaches. The course was actually very helpful to me, and taught me specific guidelines in writing in certain styles. Professor Pleasants is very helpful during the editing process of each major assignment. Her feedback is thorough, but encouraging. She is also great about due dates. She has "flex due dates" for each major assignment, which is basically a two-day extension that you don't need to request and anyone can take advantage of. They are really nice, especially during exam season. The only critique I have is this: early in the semester, she assigns short assignments with weeks in between each, but as the semester goes on, the assignments get bigger and more frequent. By the end of the semester, you might have a major assignment every week. However, she is very understanding and the workload is not unmanageable. |

She is a very nice teacher. The class is overall very easy and she grades well and very nicely. She is also a great teacher and it is clear she has a lot of passion which is great! I recommend taking her. |

Very very sweet, lenient, and understanding. As a freshman in college, she was the perfect professor to have. Easy to get an A if you do the work, and if you have any questions or concerns professor Pleasants is always open to working with you. Couldn't recommend enough. |

Professor Pleasants is one of the best professors I have ever had. She is very lenient with her due dates, tries to help in any way she can, and class does not have too much work. As long as you put in the effort, an A is not hard to achieve. |

She is my favorite professor this semester. She is super lenient with deadlines, with built-in extensions, and she will give extensions past that if you need them. Her course is super organized, and she is super nice. If anyone in the future gives her a bad rating, I will be out to get them because Pleasants deserves the world. This is not glaze, but truly, she is awesome. She sets you up for success by teaching you citations easily, having workshops, drafts due at a valid time, and much more. She gives us advice for the future, truly caring about her students. If Professor Pleasants has one fan, that is me. If she has none, I am dead. Wonderful person all around. |

Prof. Pleasants is amazing! She is so sweet and compassionate, and understands the stress of being a college student. For ANY assignment you can get a 2-day extension by just emailing her, and for essays, she'll give you an auto 2 day extension on top of that (up to 4 extra days). She always has such a positive attitude and optimistic mood, its hard to hate that class! Totally reccomend. |

Awesome professor! Passionate, communicative, and precise. Directions and rubrics are clear, she is timely with email responses, and gives great feedback for the major assignments. She's also just super cool and great to talk to. Highly recommend. |

Reviews below summarize her very well. Very sweet and nice with due dates. Course is well planned out and she has flex due dates. More work than other writing classes but the work is not hard and teaches useful skills. (Proposal Writing, Memo Writing, Resume Workshop). Skills I will be using in the future. |

Fantastic professor. In-class work is straightforward with flex due dates provided for the 5 major assignments. Of course, there is a lot of writing in this course, but you are free to choose your topics. Great feedback, and you will get a good grade if you follow the grading criteria |

Amazing professor all around. Her class is incredibly engaging and she is super fun. She cares so much about her students and puts in so much effort in every class. I have always disliked English, however, this class made it incredibly fun to delve into our interests in our papers. |

Kara is an amazing Professor. Her due dates are super lenient, gives extensions when needed. Grades really well and is very dedicated to teaching. Really cool professor. I would highly recommend taking her class again. The Assignments aren't too bad, she responds to emails quickly and give really good feedback |

Professor Pleasants is great! She's quite quirky and fun and has a deep love for what she teaches. However, she can be slightly delayed in her feedback on essays(to the point of feedback being given same day as essay is due) and personally she relies slightly too much on our peer reviews for us to gain guidance from. But overall, she's flexible in deadlines and is more than willing to stay after class to make sure you understand the assignment and that you feel comfortable completing it. If she could offer any help (besides writing it for you) she'd be the one to do it. When you weigh the positive and the negative, the positive surely overpower so I'd give the class a go. |

I honestly loved Professor Pleasants. She's genuinely a sweet person and has a clear passion for English. My only qualm is that she sometimes doesn't give feedback on drafts until very late. However, her feedback is always very helpful and she's always willing to stay behind to answer your questions. She usually doesn't say no to giving out extensions which is always helpful. Overall, I definitely recommend taking English with her. |

I took ENGL394 this fall and would 100% recommend Professor Pleasants. She is very structured and organized, and her lectures and assignments reflect that. Even though this is an asynchronous course, I always felt like I stayed on top of my work because she would send out weekly announcements detailing the schedule we should follow. She is a fair grader, but you definitely need to allot time to do assignments, especially the business proposal. |

She is wonderful, do not take my grade as a deterrent. I just stopped doing work - but she tried SO hard to help. She will give any extension, no questions asked, and promotes a very fun class environment. She clearly cares and is so willing to help if you accept it. |
