Absolutely loved this class and Plotkin. One of the best professors for sure. Class is extremely lecture heavy so you MUST go to class (even though it's at 8am). You learn a lot of applicable anatomy for any pre-health profession and just for your own knowledge. Plotkin is a chiropractor for UMD teams and has his own practice, so there are always fun stories and just ups his credibility overall. He also sometimes brings snacks! If you want to learn what kinesiology is actually useful for, this is the class! Couldn't recommend him more :)

KNES405 is hard and will absolutely require studying for the 4-5 oral practicals. The practicals are split between the five units based on body section, you draw two random and demonstrate your ability to find origin, insertion, nerve innervation and actions it does as well as a muscle test on a partner in 10 mins. If you're a PA, PT, Nursing or Pre-med major, ect. I would highly recommend this class, but be prepared to memorize a lot! Written exams are online and at home with lockdown. Dr. Plotkins and Dr. Klossner teach this class together and they are both awesome. They really want you to learn and understand the material and can be flexible in ensuring you succeed. You only fail this class if you don't show up or continuously fail to study for OPs. Grading is fair and the TA (shoutout Sammy!) we had this semester really gave his all in ensuring the written papers (one group and one short individual) and exam prep were helpful! As hard as I found it to be at times I really do value this course and how passionate the entire teaching team was. Not an easy A but well worth it.

Plotkin is a great instructor because he not only teaches you the material that you need to know for this class, but also shares with the students his knowledge from being in the work force as a chiropractor, CSCS, and a few other titles. He teaches the material in a easy going manner and is very personable in terms of approaching him for questions and concerns. I am in his 498T class now and I can definitely say that it is one of if not my favorite class I have taken in the KNES dept. The material is dense and very anatomy based, but you walk out of the class every day knowing you've learned something new that you can use even just in your everyday life. The only draw back of the class is that it is at 8am because he works at his practice afterwards, but the tests and quizzes are all very fair and he has a great teaching style. Great class!
