(With regards to LING262) Dr. Polinsky is one of the best professors I have ever had. She is both friendly and knowledgeable as well as being able to teach the material extremely well with easy-to-follow lectures. Additionally, she is THE expert in her field and was a professor at Harvard before coming to UMD. Any time you search up a paper on heritage speakers her name shows up. To any and all heritage speakers out there (people who grew up speaking one language at home but are now more dominant in another) please take this class if you want to understand WHY you speak your home language differently than natives. This course, with regards to my home language, is the explanation to every question I have asked since I was a little kid. Спасибо, доктор Полински |
