The class was really informative about counseling psychology and you could tell that Dr. Prosser knew what she was talking about. However, I felt that there were too many assignments and readings in the class compared to how much we were actually being taught. Some of the assignments were confusing and, though she didn’t grade very harshly, they were a lot more challenging than they should’ve been. The class didn’t have a traditional lecture style which made some of the content more confusing. I didn’t dislike the class nor the professor but many improvements could be made.

A good class in general to explore the field of counseling psychology and the many approaches and theories that span from it. Gives you various of ideas for grad school but Dr. Prosser assigns a large number amount of assignment that is very tedious. She always says that you shouldn't take more than an hour on her assignments and discussion boards but the way she designs the assignments and required materials you need to read are just way too damn long. Similar to her case conceptualizations, I understand her whole philosophy of "if you can't explain it in a few pages, then you probably don't have a good understanding of the prompt" but there is so much that she wants students to address that you sacrifice details in some of your statements and you'd see in your grade reports she would often point out "Could've been more in depth or have sources to back up this" which is completely impossible given her 3-4 page requirement. Other than these factors, she is a decent professor. It's just this class has a lot more workload than you expected.
