Quintana often made rude and unprofessional comments towards me and other students in the class. She speaks to her students as if she is also a student. She once said to the class that we were doing a "crappy job" with the vocab. Another time, a student asked how to say a certain word and she refused to tell them, replying, "idk, what is it?" and repeatedly shrugging her shoulders. She has very little patience, and if you or someone else asks the same question twice, she will give you a hard time about it. I once asked if we could go over the assignment we were doing in class, and she refused multiple times before finally agreeing to it once other students also showed interest. You can also tell that she shows a preference for some students over others. She also did not grade assignments in a timely manner. The vast majority of assignments did not get graded until after beginning the IPA, so you'll have to do the final exam without ever receiving any feedback on your past work. She also doesn't consider this when grading the final, so you will still be held to high expectations. Overall, I would not recommend taking this class with her, especially if you actually want to receive any guidance. |

This professor is genuinely so rude and unapproachable. Asking her a question in class very often gets you sass back. In terms of grading, she is incredibly harsh and unfair. She treats the projects you submit as if you are supposed to be fluent and penalizes your grade accordingly. During class, you are often left confused on what you are supposed to be doing and if you ask her how to say some words in spanish, sometimes she just stares at you and tells you to figure it out. She is quite rude and not a professor I would recommend for an introductory spanish class. |

Izzy is quirky and funny, and also very relaxed with regards to class material. It's honestly a very easy class; the only thing you have to watch out for are the quizzes, which there are only 2. They are all-or-nothing fill in the conjugation of the verb, so if you misspell something, you miss the entire question. The average on the first quiz was something like a 50. Of course, it's not the majority of the class grade weight, and you will still do fine even with getting a low grade on the quiz. |

She is a relaxed and kind teacher who very much wants her students to succeed. You will do well in this course if you put in appropriate effort and show improvement over the course of the semester. Her criticism is not harsh, but I somewhat agree with the first review that the class itself – including her feedback – doesn't make you that much better at Spanish. In terms of her teaching style, it really comes down to your individual effort. However, all things considered, I highly recommend Isadora! |

Professor Quintana is a really fun and nice teacher! That being said, her teaching didn't really help me learn the content, and the homework was often too long and not that helpful. All the homework is on McGraw Hill and automatically graded by the website, for context. Class was fine but I didn't feel like it was that informative! |
