Dr. Rabenhorst is great, he is full of knowledge and you can tell how much experience has has with this stuff. Great person to learn from. However, this class is not easy. The labs aren't too bad, but the weekly quizzes are tough. The exams are fair though. The field trips are fun and its cool to see everything you learn in person. But do not take this class if you're looking for an easy ENST class to meet a requirement, this is not an easy A like a lot of them. Take this if you're super into soils and willing to put in the effort.

My goat. Sometimes a little intimidating, and possibly long-suffering if you ask him for clarification on a point, and man do I hate to give an answer to a question and have it be wrong. But on the other hand, so knowledgeable, personable, and free with subtle praise when you do well.

a challenging but great class. if soils fascinate you, this is a great course to take! we learn wetland delineation and spend many labs in the field. lectures are easy to follow along with, and he provides fill in the blank note sheets for each lecture. dr rabenhorst is truly an expert on the topic, and i highly recommend this course for anyone interested in the subject.

Dr. Rabenhorst is an excellent professor. He makes sure we all stay awake in lecture by asking a lot of questions. He also emails us print-outs for every lecture that are basically fill-in-the-blanks with all of the stuff you need to know for quizzes and exams. If you don't like getting dirty, don't take this class, because the lab can get pretty messy when you go out in the field.
