Her lectures are nice; they are energetic and engaging. It is also nice that she drops your lowest midterm. However, her quizzes are bad, as in messy, and you get a short time limit for them. You do not really have time to check your work and none of them are dropped. The sad part is, they make up 15% of your score. Moreover, the homework site she uses is garbage- it barely gives any feedback, the hints are useless, and the homework will mark you wrong over using t instead of delta(t). Even more so, if you forfeit a question or get it wrong too many times, the site will not explain how to properly approach the problem. tldr; nice teacher, good (but FAST) lectures, drops a midterm, but her quizzes and homeworks are horrendous and do not provide any proper feedback. |

One of the best professors I've had for physics. The lectures are actually useful and make sense. Tests are fair and prepare you well, curves all exams, and drops the lowest midterm. |

I have to say, she is a great teacher , her classes are usually enjoyable, and somewhat energetic. However, her exam are usually very challenging, albeit there's usually a tiny curve. There really isn't that much to say, she is overall a fun teacher to have, however, her exams are always really challenging, and nothing like the practice test she gives you. Unfortunately, this may undoubtedly give you a false sense of readiness. However, she does drop your lowest exam grade so I guess that validates the extremely difficult exams. |

She is a pretty good professor. She doesn't make the lecture particularly boring but neither are they too exciting. I enjoyed her teaching style. She is both informative and tries to use her students to make the lectures flow in different direction, even if they are wrong. Exam wise: they definitely where challenging but never to the point that they were unfair or purposely tricky. She curved al the exams as well. Her office hours are VERY helpful, to the point that she will tell you the answers on the homeworks. Her TA was also very helpful and gives you great practice problems in discussion. I would recommend going to discussion even if its not mandatory mainly because its so helpful. If you are looking for a teacher that teaches to the syllabus and doesn't really pull any tricks, take Dr. Rice. |
