Class/Lecture: Super boring, he just reads off posted slides EVERY class. Maybe 15 people show up every lecture bc its meaningless to do so Midterm: Insanely hard for no reason, imagine a bmgt340 math heavy midterm exam but you don't get a formula sheet, so you either know how do it or you basically get a pity point for trying, mind you the class average was below a 68% for this said midterm Final: Also super hard, when you ask him if theres anything to focus on he give you the "everything this semester" answer, no guide, no outline, no pointers, just 23 lecture slides of vague notes and memorizing formulas. Professor himself: He's a good guy, I think he just started teaching so he does everything the old fashion way, but he doenst listen to student feedbacks despite the below C average on the midterm Overall: I would highly recommend you pick something else from the finance 440s class instead of this unless you dont have a choice, also if you take it in the fall, the final exam was on 12/17. It is 12/26 and his grades arent entered even though the university final exam due date is 12/23 so if you take it in the fall, keep that in mind cause it WILL have you stressing over break especially if you're a senior |

Do not take this class if it is with professor Richmond. The entire class is him reading off his slides which have many typos and inaccuracies. The exams are weighted so much towards your final grade and are split between multiple choice and free response. The multiple choice are very specific and could be based off a single line from a slide from any lecture. The free response questions are directly based from homework sets (which the solutions he posts are inaccurate), but require you to memorize to many formulas to not have a cheat sheet. The average on the midterm was a 62% He also does not put in grades so there is no way to know what you have and have to base it on what you expect the curve for exams will be. I've heard good things about this class with other professors, but do not take it with Richmond. |

This class is unnecessarily difficult and easily the most frustrating course I’ve taken as a senior finance major. The professor assigns an absurd amount of material with little regard for what is realistically manageable. In short, this class is about 23 lecture topic powerpoints with 30–50 slides each, and students are expected to know everything in detail. Exams are extremely math-heavy, yet no formula sheet is allowed, forcing you to memorize both complex formulas and concepts. This significantly increases stress without adding meaningful learning value. To put the difficulty into perspective, a 68% on the midterm was above the class average. What I find wild is that with how low the midterm grades turned out, and how a majority of the class said a formula sheet would help a lot he still made the final no formula sheet. Just trust me on this one, please don't take his class I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy In my personal opinion, I would rather retake bmgt380 for an entire semester than take this course again. |

The mean for our midterm was a 65%, SD of 16% I feel like that’s enough said. Boring lecture, no practice exams to study or direction In general for exam study. He gave us 10 lectures with 40 slides each for the final and didn’t narrow any of it down so you can spend all your time studying a concept that isn’t one of the 3 for the final exam. |

Do NOT take this class, professor just reads off slides does not teach at all. Final exam review was just to ask questions, and he did not cover any review. No cheat sheets allowed and exams are ridiculously hard. Hard class where professor doesn't help. |

Professor Richmond is a nice enough guy, but makes the class way harder than it should be. He expects you to memorize 500+ slides for both the midterm and final respectively, and does not allow note sheets of any kind. The exams are not like the "practice problems" he gives out, and he is not very helpful if you ask questions. He gets mad people don't do well on his exams and threatens to take away the curve. If you take his class and want to do well, expect to devote 40+ hours to studying for both the midterm and final. |

Have nothing good to say about him, this was my course eval on him: Don't claim that you are an interactive class when all you do is stand there and read off the slideshow. Furthermore, the class average on a midterm being 60% speaks a lot on the midterm speaks a lot about what kind of exam writer and professor that you are. It's also the fact that NO ONE was finished early during your midterm and that you CHOOSE to make our final exam 3 hours long which conflicts with OTHER final exam times forcing us to take it early during an already busy time of the semester. Do you not consider the fact that other people have jobs or that we have OTHER classes besides yours? Do not claim that you are helping us "prepare" for our job interviews by providing us with this extra content and knowledge when in reality it's not helpful at all and this information is something I'd never use during an interview. If I needed help with job interview knowledge I would take a class that would actually help me do that. This was quite possibly one of the worst classes I've ever taken in the 7 semesters I've been studying here and every time someone has asked me what finance elective class to take, I will always tell them to NEVER take this class with Jordan Richmond. I truly hope you can improve as an exam writer and professor because this class was so horrific that I considered withdrawing from this course and also dropping finance as a major but I only need 1 more finance elective to graduate so I decided to trudge through it but honestly, I should've withdrawn from this course and taken it next semester with a more capable professor. |

3 hour long final exam is a joke with a 3 part "short" answer question that has 5 parts to each question is insane along with MCQ. Learn how to write exams and how to properly organize your course. This class was a mess considering the average was around a 60% for the midterm, he claimed that having low scores isn't necessarily bad because his exams are supposed to challenge you but his exams are challenging because he doesn't teach what's on there. I was taking BMGT444 alongside this class and I would definitely recommend it over this, honestly, I would recommend ANY OTHER finance elective class over this course with this professor. He honestly shouldn't even be called a professor with the way he teaches. |

Do not take this professor unless you really really have to. He is one of the worst professors I have ever take, he gives the most boring lectures that are very hard to pay attention to. His first exam he said know the HW and you will be ok, and you would have failed the exam if you listened to him. He does not answer student questions particularly well and his lecture slides are very hard to learn off on their own. I do not know if this class is any better with other professor, I just know that Jordan Richmond is a professor you should stay very far away from. |

WISH I COULD DO 0 STARS. RUN!!!!! Worst professor ever. Doesn't know his the information, just reads of slides and if you ask him any questions he wont know the answer and will get annoyed you asked. The homework doesn't prepare you for the exams. The exams are the entire grade and he doesn't do crap to prepair you. You have to teach everything to yourself and are set up to fair. Worst professor ever. DO NOT TAKE!!!! |

AVOID TAKING THIS CLASS. It is so hard for no reason. There are so many concepts and formulas, and you're not allowed a cheat sheet. His lectures are literally the slides and only reads off them. He does not make sure you know it. His study guide did not help, and he said to learn the homeworks, and they were not on it. If you need credits, do not take this class. You might fail. |

dry boring lectures, doesn't really teach just talks at you and expects you to understand. midterm was extremely hard and 99% of the class was still taking the exam even when time was up. seriously don't know how he thought it was ok to create such long "short answer questions" and expect people to finish on time. also had 400+ slides of content he expects you to know for the exam. he also mentioned "if you know how to do the homework you'll be fine" and then he put stuff on the exam that wasn't on the hw. he goes extremely fast during lecture and no one asks questions because we don't even know what questions to ask. i think it's his first year teaching so hopefully he can improve. |
