Although the course is super boring, professor Riley makes it somewhat interesting by including her comedy into it. She is super kind and understanding!

Riva is incredible, one of the best professors I've had. She is so intelligent and passionate about her field of work and absolutely loves teaching about it to her students. The course content wasn't particularly relevant to a class of largely non-bio majors, but she managed to keep us engaged regardless with her joy for animal behavior. Her lectures involve a lot of student participation and discussion (and animal videos) and she cares about getting to know her students. Riva doesn't assign too much work and grades extremely generously as long as you show some thinking, so her class should never be a source of stress. She's also super understanding if you have absences or late work and makes herself available if you want help or feedback on anything. Take Riva's class- you'll learn a ton about animals and laugh a lot (she's literally a stand-up comedian).

The absolute goat. Classes are genuinely enjoyable to go to and she makes lectures engaging and funny. There are no downsides. You will learn a lot. I look forward to writing assignments for her class because she really only cares that you have a good idea and put some thought into the course concepts. You don't have to worry about the little things. Professor has her priorities RIGHT. Wish every professor was like her.

While the class itself is largely useless, Riva made it very engaging and had me looking forward to each class as she always had something interesting planned for us to learn about and discuss. She is extremely willing to incorporate feedback from students about how to improve the course and make it more fulfilling for students despite the limitations set by the department. Her lectures often included little tangents about her fish research which made them all the more interesting as you could easily tell how passionate she is about her work and made me wish I could take more classes with her despite being in an entirely different major.

This class is such a waste of time and a complete joke, but Riva makes it somewhat enjoyable. She accepts a lot of feedback and is willing to go to her bosses about it to make the program better. She is a very sweet and genuine person and a lot of her presentations are about animals, which just make the class a lot better.

Riva is an amazing, down-to-earth professor who deserves to be teaching more worthwhile courses than HNUH100. Regardless, she is absolutely hilarious, super engaging, not afraid to speak her mind, and all around charismatic. She made the pointless course enjoyable to an extent. She's a little crazy, but that contributes very well to her personality, and I'm sure she'd consider it a compliment to be called crazy.

HNUH 100 is a waste of a class, but this fish-loving, stand-up comedian of a professor makes it a little better. Dr. Riley is an understanding and interesting professor and I would recommend taking her for this course. I do think the canvas layout for the course is terribly confusing, but that's not her fault!
