This was the first time this course was offered so there were some issues, namely that having 4 or 5 different professors teaching it didnt always work out in terms of organization, and more importantly the grading was wildly inconsistent between the different professors. Additionally, there was a syllabus change in the middle of the course to include participation in the grade and no digital announcement was made about this to let everyone know who might not always show up to class. And no, saying "participation is important" occasionally in class isnt the same as "participation will be counted for a grade", almost every professor says the former but not all count it in the grade. Hopefully these issues are fixed for the next time it is taught. As far the content itself most of the lectures are pretty boring and there is no flow in how the content progresses from lecture to lecture, it wildly jumps from area to area. This course mostly focuses on safety and manufacturing and doesnt delve too deep into the theoretical electrochemistry if thats what you may be interested in. One of the few good parts about this course was the visit to ARL and other such manufacturing facilities which is a nice opportunity if you are interested.
