Hyeran Ryu KORA101 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/18/2025	I 100% recommend this professor. She's very sweet and helpful. All of her assignments are very easy and straightforward. She always makes the class fun and engaging. She makes sure that we comprehend and pronounce the phrases correctly. The weekly review quizzes help a lot with comprehending the information. If you pay attention in class, you will be fine. I didn't spend too much studying for this class. I would study like the day or couple days before the midterm and final exam and I did really well on them. I definitely did learn a lot in this course and I am planning on taking the follow up course, I do wish it was with her but, she's not available. So if you plan on taking a beginner Korean class, take her if she's available.
Hyeran Ryu KORA101 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/17/2025	She is so sweet and understanding. She doesn't give too much homework and when she does it only takes about 15-20 minutes. For the midterm and the quizzes she literally reviews stuff with us before the test. She does speak in korean so you get used to hearing it but she also speaks in english so you know what shes saying (it was also very rewarding because by the end of the semester you basically knew what she was saying when she was fully speaking in korean). She goes at a really good pace and if you're ever confused she's always willing to help. As long as you go to class and pay attention you shouldn't fall behind. I literally asked her if she could teach 102 next semester so I could take her class, she's actually the best ever.

When we're working in class, she would come around and monitor each student's progress, meeting each student where they are in the class. She's also a generous grader and is responsive to email. I highly recommend taking her class.
