its not good, but its definitely doable. he's pretty disorganized and doesn't know how to use canvas, so a lot of the deadlines for assignments were confusing. however he didn't penalize students for this and gave us extra days to turn things in. his lectures are kind of all over the place, but he is following the order of the topics covered in this class. sometimes he spends a lot of time on something and then says we don't need to know it, but overall the lectures were worth going to. attendance is optional tho unless there's a group work or a quiz, which was maybe half the time. he definitely responded to student feedback and got better over the course of the semester. he reduced the amount of problems on the homework's and started entering grades faster. he had a calendar which he continuously updated so we could see what was coming up. my issue with the structure of the class was that he would give us a relatively long group work assignment or a quiz in the last 15 minutes of class. this put pressure on me to finish quickly and it impacted my grades on the GW/quiz. the topics on them were also stuff we had just recently learned, so I didn't really understand it yet at a level to be tested on it. also, the TA would nitpick the scores for the homework, GW, and quizzes. sometime the professor would tell us we could just answer half the questions on the quiz, but since the TA was never in class, they graded it without knowing what the professor was telling us in class. overall salman is not that bad. I was able to get an A on both midterms by studying from the materials he gave. his exam questions are pretty much directly from the math testbank past 310 finals. he was also very receptive to feedback and was willing to change students grades on exams if they argued for points. I think he will get better with organization/canvas as he continues teaching, so that won't be an issue anymore. he would also remind us every lecture that he was open to questions or staying after class to clarify things. |

Instructor has zero idea how to teach, supposed to be a relatively easy course however he somehow find a way to make it difficult. He has no organization and often crams multiple units one day prior to the exam. Does not post notes in a timely manner and does not grade exams until 2 months after they are taken. On top of that he does not organize his TA's; quizzes are given every week and we never get them back so when you have random points off you dont get to see why or challenge point being taken off, not to mention that quizzes get graded in batches every month or so you have no idea how you do on them. Matlab's are easy however he does not grade them the entire semester and puts grades in on the last day they are due so u virtually have no idea what you are going to get in this course. Save yourself the headache, Safdar may be an okay person but he has no idea how to teach and no respect for his students time. |

He is very reasonable with deadlines and the amount of classwork/homework for MATH310. Also tries to explain concepts if we get confused about something, and communicates what will be on the exam well. For cons, I would say I don't get *too* much out of going to lecture, but to be fair, MATH310 is very textbook driven. Also a bit of an accent barrier, but there's not much he can do about that and you get used to it. Just keep up with the work and you'll be fine |
