GP can do the labs with people more often I mean, I believe people whoever has the work experience would love to work with GP and learn from him––to see how top–notch data worker would think and deal with the problems when he encounters one. Or even just let us observe how you would break things down and trace the root cause when the code just doesn't work. |

Prof GP is easily one of the most fun instructors I had in UMD. His experience with the technologies often gave insights that don't come from theoretical learning and reading books, powerpoints. I felt this aspect of the course was really good. While I do have reservations about the project, I felt it really made me comfortable with how to collaborate in open source projects using git – something which I always wished to learn and master. |

This course felt like drinking from a fire hose—everything moved at breakneck speed, with little pause for consolidation. The workload is so heavy that it really should have been divided into two or even three smaller courses to allow students to absorb the material properly. On top of that, there were no clear instructions about grading or what was expected on assignments and exams, which made it hard to know where to focus your efforts. If you’re looking to truly learn and understand the content rather than just survive, I’d recommend you skip this one. |

The professor might be an ultra successful engineer and an entrepreneur but the classes are plain boring where he just walks you through a dump of slides. Not an interactive class at all and you will not learn anything without prior knowledge about things being discussed in class. The best part about this course is the final project which mimics the real world expereince working in a comany. Through projecct you can get to learn things like github , docker , sql python and specific cloud and data engineering tools you are implementing in your project. The project carries 70% to 80% of the grade. Eventually you will learn something in the course but that will be on your own when you do the project. Lectures are just not worth it. |
