January's awesome. She manages to keep the class entertaining on most days, and I found myself learning a lot about writing. If you do all the assignments and don't miss class, you'll get a 100% in the class. She's incredibly understanding of personal circumstances. She doesn't fuck around with AI usage so you have to DO the assignments instead of getting chatgpt to do them for you, but she grades based on completion so as long as you do them to the best of your ability you'll be fine. You don't have to be a good writer to do well. Easily my fav instructor this semester. |

Don't listen to the negative reviews. She was a pretty great TA, and overall, her class was pretty chill. You're expected to participate, but you really just have to say one thing if you feel uncomfortable or shy otherwise (wasn't entirely my thing). Her personality is a little blunt at times (let's just say she's more in tune with Gen Z), but you have an appreciation for what she says. Moreover, she cares about you growing as a writer and provides good feedback. Also, the short stories were pretty interesting, so you won't be bored reading them. Overall, a light class and an easy A for the credit. |

The class was super easy and she really wants everyone to do well. It is a short story and poetry class, so you do have to write both. There isn't a ton of rubrics on the individual assignment but if you read the syllabus, you will be fine. She isn't a harsh grader or anything, so just do the work and you will be good! |

Absolute chiller. Good at the whole TA thing, but also just lovely. I looked forward to discussion each week. Grades were fair, even on the lenient side, from what I saw of my own and friends' assignments. Was very generous with her time and willing to help with poetry stuff outside of discussion. The only thing I agree with the other 125 review on is that she didn't always come to class prepared, but none of the discussion activities ever took the whole class (she would let us out early) so it literally didn't matter. |

Complete incompetence and chaos. She was responsible for grading most of our assignments, from attendance to mid-terms, and appeared to grade with a random number generator. I know students who don't miss a lectures who received the same scores as a student who knows nothing about poetry and doesn't go to class. She also does not come to class prepared, not knowing the curriculum she is teaching on our discussion dates as well as not being able to answer questions about our assignments. My experience in the class would have been much different if I had either of the other two TA's, and I do not recommend anyone takes the course if she is your TA. |

I really liked the short story and poetry readings she picked out for the class, they were modern and covered a lot of interesting topics. She genuinely cares about your progress as a writer, and gives good feedback when workshopping the short story and 2 poems you write for the class. I wasn't a huge fan of the participation grades for the class, but it's understandable. As long as you do all of the assignments, you should be able to get an A. |
