Pretty good guy and class!! If you already have some music knowledge (like knowing how to read treble and bass clefs), then you should be good. Michael's pace I think is a little slow in the beginning, but it does pick up in difficulty after a couple of weeks. His slides are also really pretty. I enjoy them. Very chill and nice guy. Assignments: - 6 textbook hws (on paper or online) - 4 composition assignments (on Noteflight) - 1 listening assignment (kinda like a major project) (like a mini paper) - 1 midterm (online) - 1 final Do note that he really wants the class to participate. I don't think this is a bad thing, but PLEASE ANSWER HIM ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ I always feel so bad when he asks an extremely easy question, and then no one responds. He waits and stalls the class until someone answers. It'll be like: "What note is this?" --> 7 minutes of silence... --> someone finally responds "C...?" --> "Yeah!!!!! :D /gen." |

Professor Sauer was an AMAZING professor!! I took his class during the winter session to fulfill a gened requirement. The class was semi-fast paced (nature of a break class) but he made sure to go over everything if you had questions and really cared about your grade. I had prior music knowledge which def made the class a lot easier to keep up but even if you had no knowledge he still takes the time to go over the basics. Really nice guy and was super passionate about the content. I also had other circumstances that caused me to finish the class earlier and he was super understanding and accommodating to my difficult schedule. I would 10000% recommend taking him, his homeworks were pretty easy, he posts his slides before each week, and as long as you show you TRIED the hw he'll give you full credit. 10/10 |
