Dr. Shackman is a rare professor to come across who actually cares about his students. You can tell how much passion he has for his work, and how much he wants to teach students about his field. His lectures are extremely engaging, and you will do well on the assignments if you at least skim the readings. He is also helpful for when you are experiencing issues with the class, and will do his best to resolve issues. I am not a student who enjoys the biological aspects of psychology, but this class was very engaging and interesting. |

Dr. Shackman is a fantastic professor and human being. Content can be difficult, but the homework is based on completion and the tests are pretty easy. The lower of the two midterms get dropped, the lowest 2 homeworks get dropped, and you can miss 3 classes without getting penalized. You should do the readings to better understand the content. I'm not gonna lie, I didn't really understand the class half the time, but I ended with an A+. (Also I haven't taken the final yet btw). Oh ya, and all exams are online, open notes, and open internet. He provides a PowerPoint of a lot of the answers to the exams that you can use lol. He also gives some extra credit here and there. Very enjoyable class, he cares about every student. I would take him again. |

Easy class as long as you attend class and complete the assignments. The exams are easy and a helpful study guide is provided. A really nice guy who has passion for the topic and clearly knows what he is talking about. He keeps class engaging and shows he cares about his students. |
