Totally agree with the last review. The TA, Jade would grade very harshly for the weekly assignments, and also only give negative feedback and no positive. Slevc is super nice, but the lack of material and 'brief' skims of information he gives in class makes it nearly impossible to know what 'you need to know' for the exams/quizzes. My class also highlighted these issues and no change. Considering the exams/quizzes are open-note, open book, if we learned the material in class....we should have the notes on the questions right? Wrong. I understand they want to make it more difficult because of this part, although as someone who has been to every lecture, studied the material, and still received low scores on these things proves that the material was not focused on enough in class or rather, really at all other than a brief sentence.

The last rating is pretty accurate I don't understand why the grading can't just be fair and we have to have a constant discussion about why some questions just don't make sense. Grade probably depends on the TA I think this one has been grading way too harsh. Slevc is really cool and nice though

He's a really funny professor and generally very nice, but his lectures are impossible to take notes on because he puts next to know information on the slides. The weekly quizzes are also extremely unfair. There are often two choices that both could be considered correct answers and when he reviews them he gives the weirdest reason for why one is slightly better than another. It's an interesting course, but don't expect to get the grade you usually get in other psych classes. I found PSYC300 to be more fair and easy than this course. My class has brought up how we think the quiz questions are slightly unfair and he always says things like, "well if they were easy then everyone would be getting A's and it would look like I give A's to everyone." That's not true. If they were FAIR, people who pay attention in lecture and do the readings will get A's on the quizzes. It's honestly insane that he wants his students to not get A's so he can look like a "better" professor. If your students all fairly earn A's, then it's because they put in the work to do so. Again, the professor is really funny and his lecture is entertaining, but his grading is completely out of pocket. So is the TA, Jade D. She is one of the worst TA's I have had my whole life.
