Xiaopeng Song GEOG201 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/09/2025	Good professor. Passionate about the topic and knows a lot about it. 3 exams all open note open book no lockdown browser. Also, do NOT buy the book you don't need to. I bought it and never even opened it. 2 homework assignments just simple 10 question quizzes. Overall good class definitely take it. GEOG211 lab is also easy.
Xiaopeng Song GEOG201 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/09/2025	I took this class as an easy lab credit and in short, I got that. You have to go to class to do clicker quizzes, but 40% of them are dropped at the end of the semester and the professor and TAs are super accommodating if you have technical difficulties. The exams are all take home and open note so it's zero stress. There's three homeworks and thats it. The labs are really easy and are all virtual, and there were only 6 of them. Don't buy the textbook, you will literally never need it and you don't even need to take notes cause you can just use the class slides for assignments. There is also a 5% extra credit assignment for both the lab and the main class which is super helpful. The professor moves through the class really fast, but he is super passionate about what he is teaching and is a really friendly guy. I definitely recommend for anyone looking for a low-effort lab credit.

You also DO NOT need the textbook so definitely don't buy it. I would recommend going to lectures though because he does clicker quizzes (not for a grade just practice) and write down those questions because he takes exam questions directly from those. Exams are in person but they are on elms so you have to go in person to get the code. Definitely take this if you need a NS/NL. The lab GEOG211 was online and also easy. You use google earth

Xiaopeng Song GEOG201 Expecting an A lindsaym354 05/21/2023	The class on a daily basis is very easy, just taking notes during the lectures. I can tell that Dr. Song is very interested in the subject, but he was not a very engaging lecturer. The only grades are two midterms each worth 30% and a final worth 40%. The exams are basically open note but I don't think this grading structure made sense because it put a lot of pressure on the exams. He posts all the lecture slides online so you don't even really need to go to class.
