Thomas Spreen
PLCY303 Expecting an A Anonymous 12/21/2023 |
Professor Spreen is an absolutely phenomenal professor! He is nice, funny, informative, and really helps you learn public budgeting and economics. When I took micro a year ago, I barely eked out a B in that class and still cannot remember much of anything that I learned in that class. Coming into 303, I was terrified that it would be the same exact way, and my grades would suffer - well, I was wrong. The class material was easy to ingest and constantly connected to our daily life, so we could see in real-time what we were learning in class. The classwork was manageable; we had an online reading quiz every week, which was open note and did not take very long to complete. There was a group project on an economics topic that you chose at the beginning of the semester, seven homework assignments in the form of policy memos or Excel assignments, a participation grade based on in-class assignments, and a midterm and final. The professor is always open to meet if you need assistance and can help you feel comfortable with the material. If he is teaching this class, you can't go wrong! It has turned out to be my favorite policy class yet! |
