Phenomenal Professor who is kind, understanding, and lenient. She responds to emails very quickly and cares a lot about student learning. Don't be dissuaded by the long lecture as she ended the class early for group work or for people to be able to leave early around 50% of the time. Every class lecture had a Kahoot and a 30-minute break near the middle of the lecture. Additionally when the class was taking the whole time it was often because a guest speaker would come and lecture to us which was somewhat entertaining. I did not do many of the readings although the content of the class is intriguing and has a lot of relevance to our lives. Most of the class was doing homework during the lecture which I felt was disrespectful to her although she didn't seem to mind.

A really kind and caring professor. The lectures are long but there is a lot of information in them if you do the readings and engage with the content. The topic of health information literacy is interesting and relevant to the world around us so it's not incredibly boring to listen to. The class ended early for several weeks or there was a group work time where we could work as a group or communicate for a few minutes and then leave. This professor is a very good grader as well and is lenient

Took her for a class in the Carillon Communities. She is very sweet and deeply cares for the success of her students. Attendance was mandatory and weekly readings were assigned and "tested" through kahoots each week. For a gen-ed, I do think that there was too much reading; most people never really read the assigned readings, and I just skimmed though the main topics each week. Her powerpoints were also super long and very dense. Other than that tests were open note and take home, and the class is centered around one large group project which is quite interesting and very fun depending on how close you are to your group(you all live in the same building). Overall Beth is a really caring professor but for the carillon class, I do think she can break down her slides and topics to be less dense and content heavy so people actually read and understand what is going on in class.

AMAZING TEACHER!!! I wish she could teach all my classes at UMD. She wants you to call her by her first name and uses PowerPoint that are all posted at the start of the semester so you can find everything easily. There is one big group project with multiple due dates for different parts two individual essays and two quizzes that are open notes. If you put a little effort into everything it is impossible not to pass but try because it's all super easy to understand and Beth is the best Professor and makes it fun. She's chill about attendance but does take it. If you don't go or email her before she's super flexible and cares so much for your well-being. Get to know her also, she's super personable and so fun to talk to after class when I had some time to kill before my next class because she always ended 15-30 min earlier. The only thing I would say is my class was a 9:30 am so if she didn't use all the time, I would have preferred a later start time at 10 am.

Beth is THE BEST professor. So caring and genuinely loves all her students. Teaches using powerpoints and then posts them all on ELMS so all of the notes are always available. The group project is super easy and she leads us through the whole thing. Also very understanding with absences.

Reads off power points, grades attendance, no point in going to class all tests are open note anyway.

Professor Jean was a great professor. She had interesting slides to present with her lectures. The class consist of weekly discussions, four different quizzes, 2 papers and a few search modules. The class wasn't hard overall just got to make sure you do the work and watch the lectures other than that this class is a easy A. Side note read the rubric before starting your paper.
