BMGT310 Expecting an A- Anonymous 05/30/2025 |
He was so boring to me and I just wasn't grasping the concepts but I also just wasn't paying attention in class. It was also just a me problem that I fumbled cause the exams are literally just the practice problems we cover in class but with different or sometimes the same numbers. He also allowed us a single sided cheat sheet!! The HW gives the answers after the first attempt and the group project wasn't too bad, my team did mainly in 1 day and got a 96, would help to take class with friends for the group projects. Absolutely clutched up at the end because he curved not only our class but our midterm avg score by 10% if we did well on a different group project where you just discussed a case with your group. I got a 77,66,89 on my exams and ended with a A-, my goat. |

Subasi is the best accounting professor at Smith. Homework is so free because you can see the answers after first attempt and resubmit with corrections(all questions are the same). The exams are all free response and no multiple choice so as long as you know the concepts you will not lose much points. The chapters have their own word document that outlines everything you need to know including additional practice problems. The exam questions are very similar to the practice problems and sometimes word for word with some small number changes. Just show up to class because if you miss a lecture then thats basically missing half a chapter. The curve is also crazy and extra credit opportunities are so good. 10/10 would recommend the goat |

HE IS AMAZING. Intermediate is supposed to be a weed-out class for accounting majors, but he doesn't want any of his students to drop accounting, so he made a lot of exceptions. Why is he amazing? 1. There's weekly/biweekly (there's no actual schedule for HW) McGraw-Hill which is very tedious. HOWEVER, after you submit the first attempt, it'll tell you all the correct answers to the wrong ones which you can use to your advantage for the second attempt. 2. His TA is the one who grades the exams. He gives people partial credit because the entire exam is FRQ. For example, if your number in step 2 is wrong then he'll only deduct points for that step. If you use the incorrect number for the rest of the steps, then he treats it as correct because you did the rest of the problem correctly. He's very generous and suggests going to the TA for points back. 3. We were supposed to have like 4 chapters on each exam (there are 3 total and no final), but he made the last 2 exams only cover 3 chapters because he was unable to cover it and believed that it would be better than cramming a chapter within a day. 4. During lecture he can overcomplicate concepts. He uses a mix of PowerPoint and Word Doc for lectures, but if you catch him after class he breaks it down in way easier terms. 5. THERE'S A LOT EXTRA CREDIT. He made us pay $5 for this consulting group case website where AI listens and grades the conversation. Just talk a lot and boom you get 10% + to your average exam grade. I got a 75, 90, 96 on the exams and ended with an A. Study the additional problem he provides and in class he hints at the problems that are likely to appear on the exam. It being all handwritten definitely makes it different. |

This class is somewhat difficult but I have a lot of PROs and CONs for this class PROS: 1. have a huge curve. 2. Notes are posted and with answers with step 3. Hw is really easy but takes a while 4. No QUIZ 5. Really understand the students (speak up if you have questions/problem) NEUTRAL: 3 exams (no optional final). 1 project near end of semester CONs: 1. NO recorded videos 2. There will only be 1 TA (maybe more idk) Overall you can get a B in this class even if you did somewhat bad on the exams. I got my grade from high D to a B because I got a (75, 50, 65) on my exam |

Professor Subasi is personable, but can overcomplicate simple topics. The course load is very manageable and the exams are accurate to what he goes over in class. However, this is a class where you don’t want to miss lecture. For the exams, your score is relative to your peers, which can be intimidating, but he offers a VERY generous curve. With that being said, it took him over a month to give us our first exam scores back. Overall, definitely consider taking this course with him! |

Professor Subasi is very straightforward when it comes to his class. He creates a notes templete that you can just fill in as you go. The exams cover what you learned in class and the notes have examples that are similar to those on the exam. The homeworks are kind of tedious, but it is very easy to get an 100% on all of them and they are once a week. Overall, he is a great professor that cares about his students and you know what you're going to get out of his class. |

I took this professor last spring and I can assure you he is the best so far. He always listen to his students and he knows when his students are confused. |

He is nice and listens to students. He is understanding of when we have other exams. His explanations are clear. His lectures and methods of teaching are kind of dry and boring. I have found professors who are energetic make classes easier and more fun. At the end of the day, you can get a good grade in his class. Also, I like his use of smartbook and connect assignments. |

Definitely a good teacher, but definitely a horrible grading system. Our semester grade completely depended on our "rank" in the class, so nobody had a clue what their grade was until the end of the semester. His final was also insanely unfair, but he curved it a lot to make up for it. I think you'll learn a lot in the class and hopefully he changed his grading system by now. |
