Great professor. This class was interesting as someone who was just taking it for a gen ed. Professor Sun does have an accent, but he usually reads verbatim the slideshows so if you can't understand him, read those. The workload for this class was manageable and the only hard part was showing up to class so you could do the pop quizzes (you have to go to the lecture to take them so not in your best interest to skip). He is a great guy and while I would never take a GEOG class probably ever again, I'm glad I had such a down-to-earth guy for this one I took.

Prof Sun is a really nice professor. His accent is a bit hard to understand at first but you get used to it pretty quickly and it turns out fine. This class has pop quizzes out of 3 points for attendance purposes, but you get 1.5/3 for completion and any correctness points are added on top of that. The course content is interesting too. I took it because I was interested in urban planning and it consists of the history of cities for the first half and the urban planning content in the second half, both of which I found to be fascinating and engaging. Prof Sun will help you out with anything though, he is such a nice man, and his exams are basically questions taken from the post-lecture assignments so they are super easy to study for. I definitely recommend this class and professor

Professor Sun is really nice and personable. He has an accent, so it may be difficult to understand some points of the material but at office hours he is more than willing to help with questions and clarification. There are pop quizzes to ensure attendance, so going to class is mandatory and you can expect a short quiz every 2-3 classes. There are very few grades in this course (pop quizzes, midterm exam, midterm paper, discussion credit, and final exam), so it is important to complete each assignment to maintain your grade. For discussion credit you need to lead a discussion, but the questions are provided and the TA helps out. He posts mock exam questions (and you can find some of these questions on actual exams), so it is in your best interest to review them. Overall an easy class and would recommend.
