i'm pretty sure she's leaving umd, as she just got her phd, but i wanted to write this review as an indirect thank you note. ran was my ta for linear algebra, and although the class was a bit confusing at first, ran's discussion sections were largely responsible for much of the concepts beginning to "click" for me. she would often give students extra time if they were struggling and would take time to explain a mistake if you got something wrong on a quiz. all in all, she was a great ta. her discussion section genuinely reshaped the way i studied for math (i actually started trying lol) and has motivated me to go past 200 level classes to take more advanced math. ran made getting an A in 240 extremely manageable, and i wish her the best in her endeavors post-umd. |
