I had Professor Turner for BMGT372M and he was a decent professor. He had prerecorded lecture videos that we would have to watch each week, but for some weeks the videos were from other professors from the past. An important thing to note about the course was that the assignments are weighted very specifically. For the three activities that you have to do for the class, they make up a significant amount of your grade, and the feedback that he gave for the assignments was very minimal. Overall, the class was not too bad and Turner is fine, but I do think that there are easier options for classes in the general business minor.

Prof. Turner's A-synch class was pretty boring and I didnt feel like I gained much from it but it was an easy A. the weekly readings were long but everything was completion based in the class which helped raise your grade. It is a pretty easy A as long as you do the work.

really chill professor. took the blended version of bmgt110f, which is great because you only go to class once a week. thus, most assignments are done online. the midterm and final require lots of straight up memorization though.

Hugh Turner is a great guy and very smart professor. Does not give too much work and the exams are not too bad. He is pretty laid back and understanding. I definitely recommend taking him for BMGT110F

The in class lectures 9.9/10 times were a complete waste of time and rather annoying to go to especially since they were all at 8am regardless of the section you chose. He did an awful job at preparing students for the exams since he would direct us to look over 400+ terms in the back of the textbook. In the end, the exams were either hit or miss depending on how you studied. We also had a business proposal that ended up being 10-12 pages, but it did not weigh much at all which is frustrating given the amount of work put in for it. I do not recommend taking Turner. Very boring especially early in the morning, and grades harshly for attendance/participation points.

The blended learning class you don't really learn much, and he gives you no type of preparation for the exam so you just have to have really good memorization skills. He has also never done that whole breakfast thing for us, not even the first class. I think he's a good person but the class was kind of tedious for no reason.

Hugh Turner is a very cool guy and professor. I had him for a blended learning class that met once a week at 8am. He brought bagels/croissants/ muffins, coffee, and orange juice for us because of the early morning time (he does not do this for later classes). The class time was spent generally reviewing material, going over "business news," sometimes watching videos. It was not overall helpful for the tests. Both the midterm and the final ask VERY specific questions from the textbook, especially regarding vocabulary. Each is on around 7-10 chapters of material so there are probably 200+ words to know for each test (many are common sense, don't worry). But the tests (50 multiple choice) are hard to get an A on, and he can be pretty harsh on participation points. Make sure you speak to an obnoxious degree in class to get that grade boost. Otherwise, there is a group project that ends up being a long paper and an in-class presentation. But he makes you complete it in pieces throughout the semester so it isn't so bad at the end. The LearnSmart 100-200 questions per week are time consuming, but it is a completion grade that as long as you finish (with limitless attempts to each question), you will get a 100. Overall I really like him as a person and he is clearly passionate and knowledgeable about the subjects, but this class will involve a lot of independent work. Do not expect to walk out of lecture prepared to get an A. I tend to be an A student, and I barely got there for this class.

Don't take Hugh. In the blended learning class you meet once per week and the whole class is a waste of time. All we did was watch 60 minutes videos and talk about news. Each week you are assigned a tedious 100-200 questions online.

I had him in a blended learning class once a week at 8am. We got breakfast, consisting of muffins, bagels, OJ, and coffee. The class was basically just an opportunity to ask questions. If people ran out of questions, he would dismiss a little early or show a video that he planned on showing. He recorded his lectures and expects you to listen to them on your own. There were a few questions in the exam on info in them so if you want to get an A, you should take the 30-45 min it takes to listen to it. Homework each week consisted of one or two learnsmarts consisting of 100 questions each. The class it literally just vocab, so flashcards are your friend. He only curves for certain questions that are bad. One final, midterm, and a group project (paper). He's a nice guy and knowledgable. I just can't give him 5 stars when he doesn't actually teach you.

He is the man. I had Turner for two classes my freshman year and I cannot say enough great things about this guy. Just a wonderful professor, very approachable, and an excellent teacher. Class is always fun and interesting and he always makes us laugh. All his tests are fair and if you prepare for them you will do well.

In short, this man is da bomb. Extremely chill and down to earth. For BMGT110, he assigns mass amounts of reading for each class but you really only need to get the basic idea and review bold (and italicized) terms. You watch some interesting movies in class that he knows are not too exciting but it all helps provide you with a basic insight into what business actually is, and that's what this course is all about

Professor Turner is one of the best professors I've had. He really knows what he's talking about, and is very passionate about SCM. Funny and very nice guy, too. The course is fairly easy, and professor will do what he can to make things easier. There were two tests, midterm and final. All multiple choice, all straight out from his study guide. Also, a group project on a subject of your choice and an essay on one of two topics he will give you. Highly recommended.

Like the other reviewers have said, Prof. Turner is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subjects he teaches. However the cause of my lower-than-average grade was due to the very large amount of vocabulary and readings that are included in the tests. It was hard to judge what material to study, since we had a textbook, packet, as well as a nonfiction book readings included in the tests. This, along with the multiple choice nature of the tests (no partial credit) made it easy to do poorly on tests. If you did poorly on the two exams, you have little to no chance to bring your grade up because there were a total of 4 grades including the tests.

Very easy course by a really knowledgable professor. You don't really have to go to class ever because he puts all of the slides online and the tests are almost only just vocabulary. Turner is a really interesting guy. If you take the time to engage him you'll make the class a lot easier, and if you're interested in business the classes go by quickly. You'll often watch movies he selects from 60 minutes, and will tell you pretty much everything that's going to be on the test. Make sure you go to class later in the semester because he'll give you answers to questions on the final just for showing up.

Great professor, he really wants you to do well and he has your best interest in mind. Not a very hard class, you should definitely go to all the classes and pay attention. He posts the slides so you don't need to take notes necessarily, but you should definitely just pay attention to make sure you understand everything. And it's a small class, so it's not like a huge boring lecture. He also shows videos basically every other class, which is a really nice break and they are always relevant and interesting (usually 60 minutes pieces). He tells you what you need to know for the tests which is helpful because there is often a lot of information and it's hard to determine what really matters and what he really cares about, but he makes it clear. Not a hard class, definitely a worthwhile class to take if you're interested in Business and want to get a general understanding of what it's all about. And if you're going to take the class, definitely take it with Turner--he's very knowledgeable, nice, and funny.

Great professor who is very knowledgeable. He comes from a supply chain background, and loves talking about it. But he also does a very good job of explaining the other aspects of business. He helps you understand the material and not just know it. You need to do some studying if you want to do well in this class, but he tells you what terms to know from the book and make sure to study his powerpoints too. Overall, great professor.

I love this professor! He is able to bring in his personal experience working for Toys 'R Us into his lectures, and obviously has a great knowledge and passion for all aspects of business. While I already knew a lot of what he was teaching I still found the class enjoyable and compelling - his enthusiasm is enough to make me think twice about being in Supply Chain and Information Systems! As long as you attend class and read the textbooks (don't need to take notes unless you have a really bad memory when it comes to vocabulary), and participate in the group project, you should come out with a big fat plump A. A great course for anyone who wants to learn how to read the business section of the newspaper and learn about all the majors offered at the business school!

Cool guy. He's really into music (an audiophile), thus he can't hear very well. Didn't find the material too interesting but lecture wasn't bad as he showed several videos. Tests were pretty easy if you just read. Multiple choice questions and an essay to write from a choice of two.

Had him for 110 and 298. Prof Turner cares that you do well. Tests are easy if you study for them for even just a little bit of time. The classroom experience really depends on you and your classmates. If you participate, class doesn't seem so bad. If you don't, class can seem to drag on forever. Likes to show clips from 60 Minutes that relate to the topic you're learning about which are usually interesting.
