Nah, any review criticizing how fast her class goes has never taken SPAN before. Prof. Montelongo turned my least favorite subject into something I look forward to every week. Our class is so tightly-knit because of her enthusiastic approach and animated encouragement for us to try our best. I have never, and probably never will, meet a better language prof than Montelongo. Go take her class! Now! |

1000/10 TAKE HER CLASS it will be the best thing you'll do. sweetest teacher I have ever had she genuinely cares and wants you to do well. She's respectful even if you're terrible at Spanish and nice to talk to in general. She rounded our final grade and wasn't harsh on the midterm or final. I recommend her to everyone I know who is planning to take Spanish. she's just so sweet, after a terrible event last on campus she let us have class outside and bought everyone coffee to reach out to us. please give her a much-deserved raised UMD language department. |

Ms. Montelongo was the sweetest teacher. She gave out review guides that were exactly like the test, and the workload was fairly light. Most classes, each student would take a turn reading an excerpt from the textbook aloud which can be intimidating, but she made it a comfortable environment. She was also really understanding and cared for all of her students. She was super approachable if you were having problems.Definitely recommend her. |

I would give the course a 3.5, it's not terrible at all and she is really lively. However, the course went super fast especially for someone who never took SPAN before. It gets progressively faster and more difficult. Honestly, it's pretty okay though because it's manageable. One kinda tricky thing is that the homework for chapters are due before you actually learn it in class, so you're expected to self-learn from the textbook in order to do it, which can be annoying at times. I think it was harder because in the online setting we did like 3-4 activites per class with multiple breakoutrooms so it's really requires your attention and energy. |

She is pretty understanding but the course goes by pretty fast and sometimes she doesn't explain things well. |
