Melanka's class was 1000 times more doable than Dr. Rosca's. They keep Rosca around to weed people out so I took this course with Melanka over the summer and landed an A-. I'd highly recommend taking 115 over the summer or at a community college because Rosca's class is not it. Melanka broke things down in a way that was understandable for the most part, however, even some of his methods were totally out of left field. First choice, community college. Second, Melanka. Third, take 120 instead of 115. Anything but Rosca. |

Melanka was a great TA for Calculus 1. While homeworks were pretty manageable, the hard discussion questions were barely possible to answer without Melanka's wonderful explanations. He was like a mini professor who could break down the concepts really well and explain them perfectly. He made my base in Calculus 1 stronger. |

Melanka is a phenomenal TA for differential equations. We learned a lot of theory in class time and Melanka would be the one to put it all together with practical exercises. He also makes problem solving a algorithm that's easier to digest and it works on all problems. He listened to our needs as well. He held a fairly long review session before the finals to go over past final exams. He was really helpful with MATLAB assignments as well. We didn't learn any MATLAB in class so he was our main source of information and guidance on MATLAB assignments. Personally, I attribute a couple of my A's in exams to him. I went to his office hours and he helped me a lot. Just a great TA that cares about his students, he never misses a beat! |

Melanka was my TA for differential equations and I just can’t give him enough praise. He was practically the professor and helped me and my discussion section through the process of answering every question and even threw in better methods than what we learned in class. He answers emails very very quickly and provides sources you can use to find answers to your questions along with answering your question incredibly thoroughly and in a way that you can pick up. The class focused tremendously on theory so Melanka taught us the methods to solve the problems rather than more theory. Honestly couldn’t have done as well as I did without him. 100% would recommend for any and everything. |

This guy is a thousand times better than Dr.Rosca. Would recommend him to take her place if I could. His lectures are recorded but he does a great job of explaining the material. His homework does not always match up with the lectures but the book is free so you can't complain. Took his course in six weeks and never felt lost once. Great alternative if you want to take this class in summer and avoid the normal people teaching this course. |
