I like Dr. Yi, she is engaging, understanding, and relatable. I can tell that she is passionate about her material, but my main grievance is the content and organization of this class. The slides in class are not very organized, all kinds of information coming at you at once and difficult to discern what notes are important and what is anecdotal. There is no textbook which I personally found frustrating because the material in this class is really complex and hard to conceptualize if you don't get everything from class. There are weekly readings which are lengthy but important to the material and go along with 1/2 page writing assignments due before (almost) every class. The exams are 50 questions long and you have 1 hour to complete them online, open note and open internet. There is a group project toward the end of the semester in which your success depends entirely on your group's commitment and organization, so it's on you. Also, Dr. Yi doesn't have a TA, so I'm sure it's overwhelming for her which I empathize with. Overall, I found this class very interesting. I leave this review not to say that Dr. Yi is a bad professor or that this is a bad class, I just think that it's a really challenging class so be prepared to devote extra time to mastering the content.
