While I loved Professor White and the class material, I could not give a better rating of the course itself. The class was extremely disorganized and today (may of 2024) I have assignments in February that have not been graded as of yet. Also the TA for this class was horrible and extremely rude. She also grades extremely harsh! If the class was just Professor White, I feel I would have enjoyed the course more. I would avoid this class if you can. |

Prof White is EXTREMELY nice. But I really disliked taking her class. She never gave out rubrics and seemed to grade willy nilly, along with the TA. She also didn’t grade anything for 3 whole months. And don’t bother emailing her because she won’t even check and she even acknowledges that she’ll never check her email. |

Professor White is nice..but that is the only good thing I can say about the course. The lectures are painfully boring, and there are no tests, if you have taken CCJS 325, you really do not need to take this course as there is a LOT of overlap. There are assignments from March that have not been graded yet (it's May.) There were times we were not getting any assignments at all. I understand personal reasons can interfere with class management, but communication could have been a bit better. Also, her TA Jessi Johnson is downright nasty and lied on a couple of students when they kindly requested an extension as she posted assignments as late as 11pm and expected them to be done in little time, and deleted a form of communication between students as a petty response. I understand this is a college level course, but timely posting of assignments should be standard, and if she is the TA for any course Professor White has in the future I would suggest you drop it. Worst assistant I have ever come across. |

She is very passionate about the topic and is a very kind person. However, she takes forever to grade assignments and exams; we still haven't received 5-point participation grades from February or our Midterm grades (it is almost May). She is a slow talker and expects lots of participation. Overall, easy class if you read the material (1 chapter per class, 4-6 cases per chapter) and participate in class. Like it was said in previous posts, very disorganized class and can be frustrating at times. |

The professor is nice and knowledgeable. Her class is very disorganized, nothing is listed in the syllabus nor expectations for assignments. When you ask her for a rubric she says “no”. Not to mention the TA (who is an undergrad) grades super harsh like she’s a graduate student and not accommodating when you ask for an extension. The TA is also crude and thinks she’s superior to you. The class is super interesting but the assignments and lack of organization makes me regret taking the class. |

I want to be clear - Professor White is incredibly sweet, super nice, and very knowledgeable about law and society. However, the class seems to be very disorganized. By early December, only 3 out of 17 assignments had been graded, so you never knew how you were doing in the class. Discussion posts were disorganized when they were posted, and some were difficult for students to find on Canvas, making it challenging to complete them without missing any. Now, don't get me wrong; this class seems pretty simple and easy. However, as I am writing this in late December after finals are over, with 8 assignments worth 80% of my grade yet to be graded, I have no idea how I am truly doing. This is frustrating and disappointing and puts a damper on what was really an interesting class. While I recommend her as a professor, this class can truly be a headache, as another reviewer said, and something that should be known. |

Professor White is honestly such a sweet person. She wants to engage her students and teach, and also get to know you! While her grading can sometimes be slow, and it is hard to see where you stand, she is nice and accommodating to any situation you may be in, and gives extensions if needed. She even said she's willing to talk to us about grades and re-doing things since she has been taking so long to grade, since she is the only grader for multiple pretty large classes. There are no exams in her class, and the only assignments are really just short papers throughout the course. |

I hate to have to give a low rating because she is super nice and I think pretty interesting. However the semester ends in a week and not one non-participation thing has been graded. Impossible to know where you stand if your on the right track or anything. Would avoid the headache if you can. |

Boring lecture but the professor was pretty nice. To be fair, I think she had some personal stuff going on that affected the quality of the course. |

Professor White is not an academic expert on this subject, but has professional experience with it. She is prepared to teach and manages to keep most students engaged, even though each class is two and a half hours long. It is absolutely necessary to do the assigned readings! |
