Wilder is a very sweet professor and very understanding and wanting to help her students in every aspect that she can when it comes to learning and understanding the lecture. There were a lot of readings, heavy ones too, as well as podcasts that we listened to so make sure you come to class prepared because sometimes there will be in-class discussions and activities but most of the time they're not graded but you will be observed for participation. You can miss a few of the discussions throughout the semester so it doesn't tank your grade too much if you miss a few! The class is very content heavy so make sure you're ready for the info and coursework. |

I LOVE Prof. Wilder. One of my favorite professors so far. She is super understanding and her goal is so evidently to ensure that her students learn. Your grade is based on completion, so you get an A by completing 16/18 discussion posts, all four major assignments (2 papers, 1 zine, 1 presentation), and revising two of the major projects for the final. The lower grades are simply fewer assignments. This class is mostly discussion based, and every discussion is super open. She never presents her opinion as correct but rather pushes you to consider every idea. She does take some time to grade major assignments, but she is also giving you a wealth of feed, so it is understandable. Would 10/10 recommend this class with Prof. Wilder to everyone!! |

Absolutely loved class with Professor Wilder! She always facilitated an open discussion and was genuinely interested in our opinions. She never presented an opinion as being wrong, but always pushed us to expand our thoughts further. The goal of this class is truly to have students learn. She did not assign grades or points, but rather the final grade was determined by the number of assignments completed which meant you got out of the course what you wanted. |
