Dr. Wu is not a very engaging professor, but she is very kind. I appreciate the time that she clearly puts into the course, but I do think she could have taught the class better. Lectures were very boring because the information taught was fairly elementary, and there were no technical skills that you could build in lecture. We were taught how to use Tableau (very briefly) , and that was it. For a data visualization course, I would expect to learn a multitude of data visualization tools I can use in the work force. I would love to see Power BI, Databricks, or even Excel used in this course in the future. Most of the lecture material could be cut in half to allocate time to learn other data viz tools, and you would probably learn more than I did this past semester. Y You can undoubtedly earn an A++ without attending a single class, because the content does not challenge you in any capacity. I expected more from a 400 level course. |
