Marcus Wu COMM107 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 05/15/2025	Bro is the goat. I was stressing about public speaking so much but he made the class so easy and welcoming. Really really grateful he was my professor he is an easy grader and actually really funny. If he is an option you should 1000% take him you will not regret it.
Marcus Wu COMM107 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 05/07/2025	DEFINITELY take this class with Marcus. He is the absolute best. He is so understanding of students and the fear of public speaking, and he doesn't expect perfection. He is the most chill, understanding, wholesome person and you won't regret taking this with him. Class is sometimes graded for participation and notecards are only allowed for the first speech, but he grades extremely leniently. As someone who has really bad speech anxiety, learning from Marcus this semester was very helpful for me and I wouldn't want it any other way!!!! Marcus is the besssstttt everyone loves him. Please take this course with him. 10/10
Marcus Wu Expecting an A+ Anonymous 05/02/2025	Marcus isn't a professor but he teaches the class, I believe he's in grad school. I highly recommend taking his class if you have the option to because he is genuinely one of the best comm teachers there is. Teaching style: It was a mixed class, there were sometimes "lectures" where he would go over some slides, sometimes he would have us do activities and then continue with the slides but it just depended on the topic. We did have a lot of discussions and sometimes we would have to do practice speeches but overall the teaching style for this class is not overwhelming at all, he posts the slides on canva and makes sure that we understand what he is saying. Course Content: It's a communications class so obviously we have to talk in front of the class, we had 4 big speeches: speech of introduction, informative unit, team deliberative dialogue, and call to action. These projects were so easy, I know they seem like a lot but he grades on if you are passionate about the topic that you are presenting as well as other small details. We also had to do readings and then do reading applications but don't worry they aren't hard at all, as long as you read the readings then you are fine. Overall the course content is not difficult, sometimes it has its struggles but if you pay attention then you will get a good grade. Grading and Feedback: Marcus is really quick when it comes to grading, you'll submit something one day and two days later you'll have it graded. He also gives amazing feedback, always making sure to let us know what we need to improve in and also just letting us know what he likes about our speeches/work. His feedback has really helped me improve throughout the class. he also responds really quick to emails Overall I recommend taking this course with him, not only is he accommodating but he understands very well. He has never made any of us feel less than and is always making sure that we improve in our public speaking. Please take him if you have the opportunity!
Marcus Wu COMM107 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 12/03/2024	Very understanding, chill, and made the class feel comfortable giving speeches since he understands that people get nervous public-speaking. Not a difficult class and he graded very generously. I saw a lot of people, including myself, improve and become more confident when presenting. I would recommend taking this class with him.
