Probably one of the more useful courses for my career. We covered Hull up to the Greeks. Professor Xi is a good professor who doesn't regurgitate the textbook. He is a nice, approachable guy who occasionally provides real-world insights. He really cares that his students understand the conceptual material, as opposed to the computation.

If this is the only professor left, wait until next semester.

His lectures were so bad. He wrote definitions and derivations word for word from the book on the board with no further explanation and did very few examples, if any. His handwriting is not great and can be really difficult to read. His exams were really hard and you had to teach yourself a lot of the material. The only reason I passed was because he didn't write the final and I got a good grade on that.

Chill professor who, unlike other math professors, is willing to put in extra work to help his students learn

Xi is a borderline useless professor. Lectures are dry and obtuse. He spends most of lecture doing unnecessary proofs before moving on to the next topic at lightning speed. Homework requires the textbook. Quizzes are easy, exams are absolutely brutal. There are two midterms with very few questions, so if you bomb one question you're screwed. Do not make the mistake of taking his class.

Great prof, hard exams but respects your time and gives a great curve. Recommend to anyone who wants a chill 241.
