Dr. Goldberg puts a lot of effort to explain the topics and make sure that everyone is following up. Definitely one of the best professors. Great way of explanation and a very kind person, however you still need to put a lot of effort to the class to succeed. The teacher is fair with the difficulty of exams and grading.

Love this woman, such a kind and supportive professor. She helped us review concepts we struggled in from calc 2, allowed for us to understand the concepts easily and provided us so many opporutunities to succeed and ask questions. Her exams are fair, but to get an A you MUST know how to do everything well. Her grades are slightly weighted towards the exams, but your grade can easily get boosted by all the other work. Willing to work with you and help you succeed and makes an honest attempt to learn her students and support their success. 10/10 would ENTIRELY recommend.

I loved Dr. Goldberg! She was a fantastic professor for a course that is not so easy. She made it enjoyable and easier to understand. She was always willing to answer questions and adjust her teaching style if and when needed. I would definitely recommend her to a friend!!

She teaches the course in such an easy to understand manner, backed by her experience teaching fluids in the chemical engineering department. She made this class much better than I expected it to be. That said, you do need to put in the effort for this class, its fluids after all. Highly recommend.

One of the best professors in the department, who made a challenging course doable for most students. This semester, he recorded all the lectures and posted detailed, useful slides. There is also a design project that I thought wasn't very useful and didn't relate to the course content, but he graded it very lightly which boosted everyone's grades significantly. The exams are fair, and he posts them on gradescope with detailed comments which was also helpful. The discussion section is honestly not that useful, 2 hours to go over 3 problems with an undergraduate TF, but it did give time to work on the homework and was not required.

Would not recommend this professor. I found her accent hard to understand and she was not reasonable when I asked for help. I basically had to teach myself and struggled to get a B when I usually get As. This was not up to par with my experience with other classes and professors.

Professor Clyne provides you with the material necessary to succeed. Her lectures are recorded and the example problems are very helpful for exams. She teaches the material clearly and answers questions well. However, this class is more work than it should be. Be prepared to complete full lab reports, a massive project, exams, quizzes, and homework just for a 3 credit class.

He is the worst professor I have ever had so far in bioe. He gave weekly matlab homeworks that started easy and became incredibly hard by the end of the semester, not to mention he did little to nothing to help with it. His exams were hard and had no reviews (other than him coming to the discussion and asking if there is anything people didn't understand from lecture). Speaking of lecture, it was all on power point and when it wasn't his explanations didn't come through any better. He also gave weekly quizzes that depended on recent poorly taught lectures so if you missed any you were pretty much screwed. Avoid this professor unless you really want to find out how miserable fluids can be.

Herold struck me as a teacher who is trying really hard to be good, and just falls short. He tries to explain things but it often goes over students' heads. And then when we ask him to explain it again, he doesn't really change the way he explained it. Basically, if you didn't understand it the first time, he is not going to be able to help you. He also goes way too fast through the lecture slides and doesn't allow us to understand enough. Instead of going through the slides once at an appropriate pace, he instead goes through them twice, but too fast both times. This is not an effective way to teach the material. The homework took soooooo long. I probably spent 8 hours a week on it, which is an insane amount of time. I would complain about it more, except I actually think I learned a lot from it and it contributed to my success. The standards set for this course and the depth at which we were expected to understand the material were higher than any other course I have taken here. I don't think that most of us in the class are ever going to need to know fluids at that depth, and it would be better to lower the standards slightly in favor of ensuring that the majority of the class understand the material moderately instead of only the top of the class understanding the material at the highest level possible.
