Legit such an easy class, such a GPA booster. Make an honest attempt at all the assignments and make a decent contribution to the capstone group and hell give you an A+. All I did for my Capstone group was take meeting notes, do some bioethical research about the project, made 2 charts the group didn't even use, and was a warm body for the group to bounce ideas off of. As long as you communicate with Duncan about your group and any issues they're having interpersonally/technically, then you will be fine. Annoying thing about class: group designation doesn't contain any info about meeting times or if the group goes off campus to Baltimore. Legit couldn't meet with my team at all because their meeting times were when I was busy. |

my favorite bioe professor i’ve had so far! such a nice guy and kept all of his lectures very interesting. it was the first time pulmonary engineering (bioe489k) was taught and he did a great job! workload was very manageable (one midterm, four homeworks, two presentations, and a final paper) and it was incredibly fair as it was based directly on what our notes and lectures were on! he posted recordings and all of the lectures notes and it was clear he really cared for the students by offering genuine feedback on assignments. cant recommend this class enough! |

One of the best professors in the department, who made a challenging course doable for most students. This semester, he recorded all the lectures and posted detailed, useful slides. There is also a design project that I thought wasn't very useful and didn't relate to the course content, but he graded it very lightly which boosted everyone's grades significantly. The exams are fair, and he posts them on gradescope with detailed comments which was also helpful. The discussion section is honestly not that useful, 2 hours to go over 3 problems with an undergraduate TF, but it did give time to work on the homework and was not required. |
