The content was easy to understand. However, the midterm was challenging. I don't have any issues with the professor for this class; they are mainly just issues with communication with the TA I was assigned to. I had emailed the TA for 4 weeks straight, trying to get a grade changed, with no reply. However, I emailed Professor Qu, and he responded and changed my grade almost immediately, so props to him for that! |

Lecture was literally the textbook which was nice because I barely read it. He goes extremely fast so make sure you can keep up with the speed. Exams mimicked the study guide he provides and were all multiple choice! The thing I disliked the most were the in class assignments which made me lose so many points but I never got any feedback from my TA. Be sure to make friends because the in-class work and semester long project is group work. The semester long project is a presentation and research paper right before the final, so it’s a lot. The class wasn't too bad just tedious. |

This TA grades quite harshly and doesn't offer much feedback or an explanation for things you get wrong. I'm a rather submissive person, so I never fought anything but things that I directly pulled from my lecture notes he would often mark wrong on assignments which just confused me more. Could be my error but I would've at least appreciated to use it as a learning opportunity so I didn't keep making the same mistake. |

TA's graded my assignments, so I have more of a bone to pick with them than the actual professor. Lectures fly by pretty fast because there is a lot thrown at you in one day, barely any time to do the in class assignment. LOTS of groupwork, which can be a good opportunity but in my experience I was heavily taken advantage of and could not believe the incompetence of some of the other people in this class. There are a few extra credit opportunities but they really didn't do much for me. Exams are closed book and taken in the classroom but he provides a study guide that was super helpful (I usually got a low A or B on them). Lectures mostly just consist of textbook material, honestly I barely ever opened the textbook at all...most answers to things I could find in my lecture notes. |

Susan sets the standards way too high for this class. Practically everyone coming into this course has 0 understanding of what public relations is (as it is an INTRO to PR class), and she expects everyone to know the material like the back of their hand. She is also quite degrading when students attempt to ask questions. It really feels like she doesn't want you to do well. Just show up to class and try your best to study for the exams even though they're way more complex than they need to be. |

Professor Simon is very sweet and caring as a person, but that was not reflected in her teaching. She goes insanely fast through content, nitpicks presentations, and grades very harshly. She is proud of the fact that exam averages are a C and includes content that she did not go over and is not in the textbook or slides. |

I did not enjoy this class. Professor Simon lectures way too fast so you either have to prepare your notes before class or miss everything she is saying in class. She has a complex about knowing everything, constantly cutting off TAs and students. Attendance is taken and there are in class assignments. The midterm and final are hard, she brags about having a C average on her midterm. The class itself could be better with a different professor. The end of semester you have a 10-15 page group paper, presentation, and final exam. |

Dr. Epkins is a very kind professor and is very relatable. She used to be on the communications team under Governor Hogan. We fell behind on class material during the semester and it never really felt like we caught up. We spent the majority of our time in class watching other student presentations which felt like a waste of time -- I would have preferred a lot more lecture time. Overall, Dr. Epkins is super nice but was unorganized this semester. I would recommend her overall though. She wants all of her students to succeed. |

Professor Simon is a sweetie. My class had attendance & in class assignments, so it's important that you come. Content is interesting & very straight forward on exams. |
