Sean Rhodes COMM230 Expecting an A Anonymous 12/11/2023	Professor Rhodes is the best professor I've taken at UMD. Rhodes is accommodating, thoughtful, and has a great sense of humor. I learned how to debate properly in his course. He is pretty relaxed at grading, as he wants you to learn as much as you can. I get nervous about presentations but with how small his class is, in conjunction to his welcoming personality, it never felt like I was actually giving a presentation.
Sean Rhodes COMM230 Expecting an A Anonymous 12/07/2023	Rhodes is an amazing professor. He's not only funny, but the material and content he teaches is so interesting especially when we apply it to the final debate that we prepare. His class is easy and there's only two major assignments that are really important in his class. Whilst he took a bit of time grading our work I don't blame him for that because he's pursuing his own schooling at UMD. Professor Rhodes is the most understanding person ever and he'll always make time for you. TAKE HIS CLASS!
Megu Itoh COMM230 Anonymous 05/19/2022	Professor Itoh is a really good instructor. She's a student herself but she is incredibly knowledgeable in her area and in how to really engage students. There were a lot of group projects which I am personally not a fan of, but the readings and applications were super clear and well taught. Itoh is really good at communicating (obviously); her lectures were really organized, which was so helpful. COMM230 specifically is very content heavy, and the large assignments require a lot of in depth reading and research. I would not recommend this class for those who strongly dislike reading and conceptual ideas like rhetoric and the like. Overall, I did learn quite a bit from this class, and Professor Itoh is very accommodating and easy to talk to.
Fielding Montgomery COMM230 Expecting an A+ Anonymous 01/26/2021	I can't say enough about Fielding. He's such a wonderful professor. He prepares students for each assignment and truly cares about your success in the class. He's so understanding and approachable. Take any course he teaches.
Victoria Ledford COMM230 Expecting a P Anonymous 05/07/2020	I had Professor Ledford for COMM230, which I took basically just to fill credits as a senior. While her expectations for participation and engagement are high, she is a very understanding person, and if you show that you care, you will do well. I had her for COMM230 during the semester where we had to transition to online learning, and she adapted her expectations, and course work well, where many professors simply didn't care enough to do so.
