Professor Schoute is a really sweet and down to earth professor, and it's clear that he's passionate about his work in the field. However, the class itself is not super interesting, as it mostly just goes through the different aspects of research and experiments/observational studies. For this semester, we met once a week and had asynchronous readings and lectures that he would review in the beginning of class. For the rest of class, we would meet with our group to write discussion post responses. There is a lot of groupwork, and there are reading quizzes with 2 attempts to complete every week. However, he does a good job of explaining complex topics and gives good constructive feedback on your research proposal assignments, which are a big part of your grade. Just remember to respond to one person in your modules and take the reading quiz a second time after class, because if you don't you will likely get points taken off.

Eric was awesome. Super flexible, great with feedback. If you put in the effort, he'll come through for you when it comes time for final grades. The subject matter was really tough though. If you're taking this to avoid taking math for the analytical reasoning requirement, you're probably better off just taking math. This class also requires a LOT of group work.

I had prof. Medrano for EDHD306 and it was a pretty easy A! I believe it was his first time teaching a class by himself so he wasn't the most outspoken/ best explainer during lectures but he was a very easy grader and I could tell he genuinely cares about his students and their grades. He also built "writing days" into the course schedule so we got a few classes off to catch up on work which was super nice. Overall, he was very sweet and smart and I would recommend him!

DO NOT TAKE HER. She doesn't know what she is talking about and only makes things more confusing. We didn't have class for 3 weeks straight, so we lost a lot of stuff. She is extremely slow on grading and it takes forever. The big assignments build off each other and days before the next assignment would be due, the one before still wouldn't be graded. She will ask questions and no one responds, so we sit in silence.

She is nice and it's not a terrible course. She has a hard time keeping up on grading, most things get returned weeks after promised. She is not a great lecturer either its a bit difficult to remain engaged.

Josh is really reasonable and a good instructor. He allows our weekly assignments to be graded based on completion and is not too harsh of a grader on the larger assignments. The midterm and final exams are also online and open note. Classes are also really straightforward, with a presentation of the week's topic and a short relevant activity. It's not really necessary to attend class because he posts the slides online, but I would go to class to score some brownie points with him. Overall, I would definitely recommend him if you need to take this class.

Overall, this instructor seems very nice and down to earth. The class sessions and lectures are not very engaging, and there are activities that can only be completed in class. The lectures can be long as they most often take all of the class time. There are some classes where a small portion of time is on group work that can only be completed if you attend. The workload is small and manageable with taking other classes. I'd recommend taking this class either freshman/sophomore year especially if you have prior research experience. I took it after my research experience and found the material to be very repetitive and I didn't really learn anything new. If you have any bit of research experience, all of the material will be repetitive. But, that leaves this course as an easier option for an elective course if needed. If you do need to take this course I'd recommend taking this professor as I have nothing bad to say about her personally.

Eric is a great professor. He is very entertaining in his lectures. He posts his power points and also gives a lot of examples when lecturing, which was really helpful. The class has 4 papers. There is also textbook reading and a quiz nearly every week, but we can take the quizzes twice to see how we improve. There is a good amount of work, but he was very helpful in answering questions.

Eric is a very engaging instructor who will keep you motivated throughout his course. I took EDHD306 for a GenEd, but I became very interested in the course because of the way Eric teaches it. He makes even the most complex topics very simple to understand and it is very rewarding to see how your knowledge progresses throughout the semester.

Cool professor. She really cares about her students and tries to make the lectures as fun as possible. Seriously, a cool and GOOD professor.
