Selected Topics in German Literature; German Literature in the 21st Century

This seminar investigates literary developments in the new millennium. Topics covered include globalization and transnational literature; the literature of migration; pop literature; the role of new media in literary production and reception; and the changing representation of German history and identity. We will consider questions of genre, aesthetics, authorship, and periodization as they take shape in a changing literary landscape. Taught in German.
