Masayuki Tashiro PHIL271 Expecting a B+ Anonymous 04/27/2026	I feel like there is no take away from this class if you aren't a computer science major, unfortunately it is a degree requirement for BSOS. There seems to be a disconnect between the professor and the abilities of the students, he just assumes you know everything and suddenly moves on. He is extremely passionate and loves what he does.. but assumes everyone loves it just as much. I feel there is not much guidance outside of office hours, however his lectures and comments on homework are kinda all over the place. He is a very nice guy don't get me wrong but this class needs an overhaul.

He really wants everyone in the class to succeed and will double back as many times as necessary to make sure that everyone understands the material; he literally embodies the phrase "there are no stupid questions". Some others have said he's a harsh grader, but he makes up for that in the final curve, which essentially makes it impossible to get a bad grade as long as you try your best. He's super fun and passionate about the subject, and his lectures were super interesting to attend.
Eric Pacuit PHIL271 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/20/2023	Course material got difficult towards the end but he is a very relaxed grader. This course is pretty easy if you've already taken 170 but would be hard if it's your introduction to symbolic logic.
