Great professor for the 3-credit course (PLSC112), but I would not recommend taking the lab (PLSC113) alongside it. PLSC112 was a manageable course overall, with weekly online quizzes and exams that weren't too difficult. The hybrid format was nice, especially since there were no classes on Fridays. However, I struggled with the lab. It was very unorganized, and my lab group and I were often left confused about what we were supposed to be doing. The quizzes in the lab were challenging, especially since we had to identify different types of crops and seeds that were often unclear and only shown to us once before being quizzed. Lab time was chaotic, and we frequently didn't know what to do, which made completing the lab reports difficult. Overall, I’d recommend the lecture portion of the class but would suggest avoiding the lab if possible. |

PLSC112 Expecting an A Anonymous 02/06/2024 |
Professor Griffith is not a bad professor by any means but also not the best. Pretty average lecturer (read of the slides most of the time). She used to respond to emails which was helpful and also was willing to answer questions after class if you had any. Her grading wasn't harsh on writing assignments. Sometimes things did get a little unorganized but in general the class was not too bad. Overall just an average professor in my opinion. |

Very easy DSNS. All the weekly quizzes and exams were online and weren’t very hard. You have two projects, one is a group project about an assigned crop and the other is a 5-7 page paragraph about any crop scientist of your choosing. As long as you hit all the instructions for those projects you will get an A. I stopped showing up to class after the third week and finished the course with a 99%. My advice though is to not take 113 and to take another lab. |
