Edward Lemay PSYC420 Expecting an A Anonymous 11/05/2024	This class was the absolute WORST. Took it because I thought it would be relatively easy/interesting but it was none of that. The professor's instructions are extremely unclear, and he barely gives any useful feedback. the TA does not help either. None of them will give you clear answers and you will be lost for the majority of the class. If you do not complete the assignment 100% correctly in the way he wants it, you will get points off for anything you add or do not add that he wants to see. I cannot even count the amount of times I have cried over the work assigned. Coding the research makes absolutely no sense, and that is all we do in this class. The information we are learning is equivalent to that of GRAD SCHOOL. I have never been more miserable during a semester. If you thought psyc 200 or 300 was bad, good luck with this one. Please take my advice and do not make the mistake I made, and if anyone understands this class, you've got the brain of a Harvard student.
Benjamin Jones PSYC420 Expecting an A Anonymous 05/15/2023	I really enjoyed this class with Dr. Jones. My group mates and I got to explore a topic that we felt was interesting and the class has good energy. I did not feel that the Wednesday discussions required mandatory attendance since it was the same people participating anyway, but that's probably my only complaint. He was really helpful in guiding the research experience and is pretty knowledgeable for whenever we had questions. Also offered to completely review the final papers with us before we turned them in, which really eased my stress when finishing it.
Benjamin Jones PSYC420 Expecting an A Anonymous 04/24/2023	Dr. Jones is the best professor I've had here at UMD. He makes lectures very interesting and engaging. He also makes sure no student falls behind and is very good at explaining and teaching course material. Overall, I highly recommend you take Dr. Jones in any class; there's not too many professors out there that actually care about us students.
Ryan Curtis PSYC420 Expecting a B+ Anonymous 12/19/2012	I took Curtis for Interpersonal and loved him. I also took him for PSYC420 expecting him to be fun and everything, and found that he wasn't. However, if you're serious about Psychology and plan on going into social research, you aren't going to find a better professor to teach you the material. He's challenging, but he explains concepts very clearly and knows what he's talking about. I highly recommend him.
Ryan Curtis PSYC420 Anonymous 03/12/2012	I had Curtis for both PSYC334 and PSYC420. When I signed up for 420, I intentionally chose Curtis because I LOVED him for interpersonal. He was funny, engaging, creative, and clearly passionate about the subject. Unfortunately, that did not translate into 420. He speaks really condescendingly to the class and has been far from friendly and approachable. I don't know what happened--it feels like it's not even the same guy. I would not take 420 with him--he's too much of a jerk.

Dr. Jones is the best professor I've had here at UMD. He makes lectures very interesting and engaging. I took Curtis for Interpersonal and loved him. I also took him for PSYC420 expecting him to be fun and everything, and found that he wasn't.
