Graduate Seminar; Secondary Data Analysis for Psychologists

Large existing survey data are a powerful yet under-utilized resource for scientists interested in studying human behavior. This graduate-level applied statistical methods course will guide students inbreaking down the barriers to engaging in secondary data analyses of large survey data. We will cover topics such as complex survey designs and recruitment approaches, generalizability, statistical power, preregistration, and reproducibility. To accomplish these goals, students will identify one publicly available survey dataset and engage in secondary data analysis of a research question of their choosing.
