This class is somewhat interesting but she literally hates you and makes you feel targeted if you are on the quieter side. Statistics is especially emphasized so if you aren’t good with that stuff maybe don’t take this class (it seems like everything was about stats) and she is super picky with grading, especially with her podcasts assignments and the 30-75min presentation on a research paper. She also treats you like a highschooler/ middle schooler and monitors you during class and you HAVE to say something insightful or else you won’t do well participation wise (also don’t even think about checking your phone quickly or some other stuff that isn’t class related…she will catch you and shred half of your participation points off for the day AND leave a passive aggressive comment about you slacking off even though you participated). Finally, her final paper was such a mess. The description for the assignment was literally an essay in and of itself and was so confusing that she had to send a clarifying email a week before it was due (which didn’t clarify anything, only made it confusing). |

I recommend this professor! Dr. Gard is very fun and demonstrates a lot of knowledge and excitement in regards to course content. This is a small class, so she is very accommodating in terms of deadlines and needs. She also provides a lot of positive and constructive feedback on written assignments. Lectures are interesting and engaging, and a big part of your grade is just attending class and talking. |

This class content is interesting, but Dr. Gard makes this class much more difficult than other professors. Our exams were in person and were closed notes, while other professors had online, open note exams. After the first exam Dr.Gard let us use a one sided cheat sheet due to very low exam averages. She also introduced GSS since exam averages were on the low side. She is really nice but teaches at a very fast pace and often crams a lot of content on every slide, making the information harder to process and retain. |

I love Dr. Gard. She's very knowledgeable and her lectures are engaging. But this is the hardest class I've ever taken. Here is some important advice: • Be there for EVERY CLASS. Attendance is 10% through clickers (I could've gotten an A if it wasn't for that). • Answer every question on the study guide to know everything from the lecture (details are important). • Make sure to be super super precise with the written assignments because the TAs are harsh graders (at least this semester). • Do the extra credit assignments. The bump can end up being 5% to your total grade it's amazing. |

This class is 10X more difficult with Dr. Gard. She is really nice and passionate but makes this class much harder than other professors. She actually had to curve our midterms due to such low test score averages. After the first exam, she let us bring a one sided cheat sheet, but other professors have exams online and open note. |

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. This is by far the most work ive done for any class. The professor runs through the slides as fast as possible with paragraphs on each slide. The exams are horrific, requiring you to memorize so much information and then asking the most specific questions on the test. Completely unreasonable amount of work, grading, exams, lecture style. Only take this if you want to spend 90% of your time on it and still end up barely passing. |

Clear expectations, amenable to students' needs/feedback, cares about your learning without making you unnecessarily stress about grades. I loved her and could not recommend her more highly. You won't regret taking her class! |
