I can't speak on a regular semester's class but if you have a lot of free time during the summer this class is really easy to do well in and still manageable if you have other responsibilities. Dr. A is a very kind person and she understood that people had other things to do over the summer. You could get any assignment extended but you just had to ask her for it. There are a lot of readings and resources covered but I never had to spend more than 4-5 hours a week to complete assignments. The only assignments that took some time were the discussion posts and the two big projects which were 5-7 minute recorded presentations, but nothing was ever conceptually difficult. She also has rubrics posted with every assignment so as long as you follow them consistently you're guaranteed a 98% or above, definitely pick this class (which is completely asynchronous over the summer) if you need the 3 gen eds.

Dr. A. is so kind and thoughtful, and I loved taking CHSE205 with her over the summer. This course is great! It's super interesting, and I think it's something that everyone should take. There's a lot of reading at times, but she's very understanding and open to giving extensions. I also found the two main projects easy to complete as well as interesting. Highly recommend this course!

She is very nice but is overly passionate and expects a lot out of you. I feel like she plays favorites and picks and chooses when someone gets a good grade. Someone who could have the same work as you or same project and did the same amount of work could be getting a much better or worse grade in comparison- its unpredictable. The class itself isn't bad and the guest speakers that come in are interesting and I enjoyed them, but I always felt like she might have had something against me. I am a very hard-working student who does well in most classes, and felt like I deserved a better grade on multiple things that I did. My advice is if you want an easy gen ed to take this class but make sure she really likes you and get on her good side. She won't show she has favorites in person, but you will figure it out by grades.

Dr. A is one of the best professors I've ever had. She's so kind and personable. She gets to know each of her students on a personal level which I really appreciated. She makes it clear that she cares a lot about each of her students and is always willing to give extensions on any assignment as long as you ask in advance. This class seemed like it was going to be a lot of work at first because we had to watch a few 2-hour-long videos and write about them, but after the first few weeks, the class was fine. The assignments were easy and not graded very harshly. There were a few online quizzes, but the answers came directly from what we discussed in class or were common sense. Dr. A does not take attendance, but she will notice if you are gone, and you should go to class so you know what to do for the assignments. My only issue with this course was that a lot of the class was Dr. A lecturing at us, which I did not find very engaging, although she tried to make it as interesting as possible. Overall, this class was very easy, not a lot of work, and a great gen ed!!

Dr. A does a fantastic job connecting disability to our everyday lives and making the course very interesting. She provides an uplifting spirit that encourages students to attend class and also makes activities to keep us heavily involved. Would recommend to any student! Workload is super managable

If you have the opportunity to take this course with Dr. A, do it! The course checks off multiple gen eds and is actually really interesting and engaging. The professor and TA were fairly easy and it wasn't too much work to get an A.

Don't take it. Like just don't take it. Its a dumb course. She made us make lesson plans, which seemed pointless. everything beside viewing assignment and reading response is absolute shit. STAY AWAY. Teacher is supernice. she is super strict. if you miss an assignment it would probably drop your grade by at least 4-5%. killing you in the end. there are no make ups or extra credit. If you miss classes, she would tend to give u a worse score no matter what. it does depend on her mood ngl.

If you need a class to satisfy the DVUP gen-ed, take this! She is an amazing teacher and keeps the class engaged really well. She is really understanding and reasonable when it comes to workload and quizzes. Definitely more project based rather than midterms and finals.

Dr. Andrusik is one of my favorite professors here! The in-class discussions are very meaningful and super interesting. The amount of feedback she takes and applies makes sure that the course focuses on the areas that students are interested in and make you feel seen. The class work is related to the themes and questions asked throughout the semester and isn't busywork. If you get the chance, take this class!
