Starting off this class I was completely overwhelmed because of how much work it contained. The class contains a lot of reading. You are supposed to read books and in some of the weekly assignments there are readings not just readings that are 1-2 pages but readings that are 10+ pages. The only nice thing about this class is that it is online and only for one day. I do not think this class is worth it for only a DVCC credit. Sometimes there is more than one assignment a week and the directions on the assignments and wording can be very confusing. This class caused me so much unnecessary stress for a gen-ed. There are 3 exams 2 midterms and a final (which is basically just a really long assignment) and they're all online which is a plus.

Great professor. She's knowledgeable, accomodating, and is really passionate about disability studies. Since the class met online only once a week, there was a fair amount of content to read/watch and assignments to do, but it was reasonable. Also, I found her rubrics pretty clear. As long as you put effort into the class and use critical thinking skills, you should get a good grade.

Good teacher, very knowledgable and kind. This course was extremely disorganized (online) and she was never consistent with her wording/assignment requirements which caused a lot of unnecessary stress.

Intensity: 3 continuous hours offline and probably 1- 2 hours online every time(In summer school). Gaining: Amazing content. Eye-opening. World view redefining. Super nice and helpful professor. Lots of readings, videos watching, discussions and guest lecturers. Snacks were offered every day(she was a fantastic baker) Grading: 200 in total and A- if lower than188(High risk of A- for international students). Every detail counts.Good English required(got about 4-5 points lost because of my English). If you are really interested in cultural classes and are interested in America culture and history, strongly recommended; Just for credit taking? there are lots of other courses from which you can easily get an A+/ A

Dr. Fink was probably one of the nicest professors that I've ever had. She honestly cared about all of the students and there wasn't too much work. This class is also really easy. Even though she says that she grades as a group for the final group project, one girl in my group never did anything and she got a lower grade so don't worry about that (unless you're that kind of person).

This class is pretty easy and does not require a lot of time or effort. There are chapter preparation assignments (you need the book), a book/movie review, two tests, two quizzes, and a presentation. There are also many guest speakers. Dr Fink was very laid back and accommodating, and she really does care about what she is teaching. Warning: she will make you feel bad if you use any words like "retard", "handicapped", or "disabled person". Before even starting the class, you should know that she requires person-first descriptions of people (ex: a child with autism, NOT an autistic child). and NEVER use the R word. I'll save you the lecture :)
