This is a very esoteric class - you'll only be allowed to take it if you're in HGLO. Nonetheless, Madie did a great job teaching. We only had about 4 in-person meetings. You will have to write a research paper that uses some form of data analysis related to what was learned in the previous HGLO classes. She made the class easy by grading very fairly, and she gave very helpful feedback when taking off points (so it was always clear what needed to be improved/what mistakes were made). I would recommend this class for anyone choosing this path for HGLO.

I mean, if you're taking HGLO298A you probably already know Madie, so you shouldn't need to check this page. But apparently I can give a review for this class, so I will gladly inflate her reviews :D

(Summer asynchronous class) Ms. Fleishman was an incredibly kind and understanding professor. The course is *very* reading heavy, but she has excellent explanations in recorded lectures. It was also nice to be able to speed up the recordings because she speaks at a slower pace. She tries to connect everything we learn to the real world, which is useful since the first half of the course is so theory focused. Half of your grade is dependent on the final exam and a paper. The other half is from a few quizzes and discussion posts. I think the class average was around a B+.
