Do not take this professor. Short story; this professor was so bad that more than half way through the class our a new professor took over. He was always at least 5-15 minutes late to class, showing up frantic and unprepared, we had no grades going into our midterm, still had no grades going into November, and on the midterm period he showed up 5 min late and asked a student to go to mckeldin and print the exam... He is a good guy who is passionate about what he teaches and wants to help. Maybe that's why they still have him on the schedule, but I was shocked he didn't get fired.

Don't take this professor! I was going to wait till the end of the semester to write this review but wanted to give people registering for next semester a heads up. I'll come back to leave a more detailed review after the semester but please trust me.

PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS REVIEW IF YOU ARE REGISTERING FOR CLASSES! Being a Gov B.S. major is notoriously terrible for picking classes, but this class is particularly bad. Professor Flores is a nice person with good intentions, but it was very evident that this was his first year teaching. We were supposed to have written quizzes about 20-60 page readings every single class. This is fine, but he would often cancel quizzes, provide incorrect content, and ask unreasonably niche questions that could only be found in one paragraph of the reading. He also would miss class without telling us (resulting in us sitting in class for 20+ minutes without him being here), cancel class extremely frequently, and generally be completely unorganized. We are now halfway through the semester with no grades (no weekly quizzes or the single-spaced paper in ELMS) and a midterm study guide with information we never covered in class or on the readings. I'm sure the content could be interesting with a better-organized professor, but don't expect this class to be like social media or contentious politics, with applicable coding skills, global issues, etc. His other classes have had similar issues, from what I've heard, so stay clear. Gov B.S. majors, I know class registration is dire, but stay away from this class.
