I absolutely loved Dr. Franco. She is extremely sweet and likable, super passionate about loneliness, connection, and relationships, and very welcoming to her students. HNUH248U is unfortunately no longer offered, but I highly recommend taking any of her other classes. It was a super easy but engaging class, where I never stressed about assignments but was always super looking forward to attending class and learning more. If you are lonely, or you are interested in the science of loneliness, or you are passionate about friendship, or you just want a class that actually feels like a community, take a class from Dr. Franco. |

Her class is very easy because there is barely any work and no tests. The activities are engaging and fun, but when she goes into a lecture-based class, it is very boring and research-heavy. It's a very easy gen-ed, so despite the boredom at times, definitely recommended. |

Dr. Franco is such a sweet and great professor. She is very accommodating for those with ADS accommodations. Along with that, her course has little assignments, one big project, and mostly attendance-based. I look forward to this class and enjoy interacting with my classmates. Unfortunately this course/cluster is ending in Spring 2024. There is a new course that is very similar called HNUH269P Building Community: How to Make Friends taught by Dr. Franco. I was thinking about enrolling in this course; however, it counts as a duplicate credit if you've taken HNUH248U. |

Dr. Franco is a kind and awesome professor! She's very accommodating for those with ADS disabilities, responds to emails frequently, and her class is super interesting! There is quite a bit of reading, but there are no reading quizzes/checks. It's definitely helpful to read the books, since it helps with discussions. The course was mainly lectures(short presentations), conversations, and interactive activities. The grading relies heavily on attendance, so make sure you come to class and communicate absences. This has been my favorite UH class, and sadly this course/cluster is ending Spring 2024. |

Really good professor, genuinely cared about her students and always made her presentations really interesting. She made the class about learning something new and not about the grade which I think is something that does allow you to have the best possible "gen-ed class" experience. Everything you learn in this class too is so applicable in your everyday life and the assignments are also applicable to your daily life. Overall a really good experience with a really interesting class, paired with a really amazing teacher who prioritizes the learning and not the grade. |

Professor Franco really cares about her work which this class was about. She is a lenient grader and is very understanding. Does not like phones out during class, but that's really it. |

Passionate about the course material and honestly could not ask for anything else from her. Take her if you can. Just be sure to do the work for the class and all will be well. |

Her class is pretty boring, but I did learn a lot about relationships and how to keep health ones. There is barely any work for the class and is a very easy A. There are also no tests and you lowkey don't have to do the readings. |

Professor Franco was very nice, but it was clear that she only really enjoyed talking about the things that she was interested in. Several classes were dedicated to how she received her book deal (not related to the course), and it was clear from her tone and behavior when she didn't like a particular group's ideas. Additionally, she is not responsive to emails (both through gmail and through canvas). She is clearly passionate about her work and her other classes, but I don't think she was as happy to be teaching this course. |

Really good teacher. She is really passionate about the class/material and you really learn a lot about loneliness/relationships. Class is super useful and interesting, as I learned a lot that can directed be applied to someone in a new place/environment that is college. Super nice and charismatic teacher. Would def recommend to all. 5/5 |

Very sweet person. Very easy A and easy grader. What is great about this class is no note taking from anybody. Instead of being focused on copying down information, you can actually listen to the information and absorb it. I actually think I learned better that way than if I took notes. A lot of reading, but not textbook reading, and many parts were interesting. |

Absolutely amazing! She is so sweet and down to earth, willing to listen and talk to everyone, and just such a wonderful person and professor. Her teaching style is so easy to follow and she keeps you engaged. One of my favorite classes I've ever taken and there is a lot of valuable information to take away and to help you connect with others. I highly recommend and am excited to see what she does in the future! Btw buy her book Platonic! Great read :) |

HNUH100 provided some valuable information, but sometimes it felt just like busywork. Professor Franco was great though, she made some interesting presentations and overall I enjoyed the class. |
