Samuel Handwerger BMGT289D Expecting an A Anonymous 06/24/2024	Handwerger is funny and has interesting stories about his life. Attendance isn’t mandatory and his lectures are zoom recorded but you need to email w a valid reason to access them. I feel like the class is a little long and dragged out and he often skips slides without going over everything. The grades the semester I took 289 was “ungraded” so you evaluated yourself. We had a project, a multiple choice midterm (curved based on how other students did), many quizzes, and case studies that replaced the final exam. The assignments aren’t hard but they’re a lot and tedious at times. He sent me a passive aggressive email once and when I addressed it he ignored it haha. He’s big on participation and engagement. He started off picking random names to answer questions but stopped by the middle of the course. Overall I learned a lot and I’m glad this class was triple count for gen eds
Samuel Handwerger BMGT289D Expecting an A Anonymous 06/12/2024	Reviews speak for themselves however the lecturers are pretty dull and boring and there is no need to attend. He's a very intestine guy with tons of stories but his teaching is lackluster and all over the place, but the class covers many GenEd requirements and is an easy A, if you put in some effort.

He makes it fun and tries his best to keep everyone engaged. Posts everything you need to know about the class in advance. Had a hard time sitting still for an hour and fifteen minutes but that’s honestly the only downside I had with him. He’s great!!

Honestly, he is one of the most dull lecturers I have ever had. I dreaded going to class everyday. I'm genuinely confused on how he has such good reviews. I think the course content is interesting, but the way he taught the class made it unbearable.
Samuel Handwerger BMGT289D Expecting an A Anonymous 04/05/2024	Easily the best professor I have ever had as a college student. He genuinely cares about his class and students. He also knows a lot about the subject from his career experiences and his stories are very interesting and relevant to the information in the class. He is very fair about grading and is very down-to-earth. Very nice and funny guy. Highly recommend this class not only because it is an interesting topic and relevant to every-day life, but he is a great professor.

Samuel Handwerger BMGT289D Expecting an A Anonymous 05/07/2023	Dr. Handwerger is the sweetest guy you’ll meet. The class was very easy; the weekly homeworks only took on average about 10 minutes to complete. There were no exams, only a final which was multiple choice and free-response. Handwerger is a great speaker- he makes the class super fun and engaging, even though I was taking the class as a gen-ed. As long as you pay decent attention in class, it’s an easy A. Handwerger wants to pass you, so as you participate in class and show him energy, you’ll get an A.

Samuel Handwerger BMGT289D Expecting an A Anonymous 05/02/2023	Professor Handweger is very kind and clearly cares about his students. He curves/adjusts most things, which is helpful because his quizzes can sometimes be confusing and misleading. He has a lot of experience that he shares during class, so it's clear that he knows a lot about what he talks about. Class can be kind of boring but is pretty easy. There is one big group project, but it's not that difficult.

Curves almost everything so even though the homeworks can be a bit tricky, it's all good because he'll boost your grade no matter what. He really wants his students to do well and get good grades which to me is one of the best qualities in a professor. Would take this class with him again ten times out of ten.

He is very understanding and will curve quizzes. He does not take attendance. I took this as a Gen Ed and I am happy that I did!

Samuel Handwerger Anonymous 05/13/2022	I really enjoyed Handwerger's class. He is funny and engaging and makes the class have a comfortable environment. I would highly recommend him if you are looking for a fun gen ed to take.
Samuel Handwerger BMGT289D Expecting an A+ Anonymous 05/11/2022	Professor Handwerker is one of my favorite professors at UMD. He is always animated in the classroom and demonstrates interest in what his students are doing. His enthusiasm for the topic makes learning fun and exciting. His grading is fair and he makes it clear that he wants everyone to do well.
Samuel Handwerger BMGT289D Anonymous 04/18/2022	He is very nice and understanding. Funny Jewish guy. Reminds me of my Zaide. When it comes to lecture he does not take attendance, class is interesting and he tells stories which are engaging. There are weekly quizzes, questions are vague, he often gives questions back bc majority of people get it wrong. He makes them tricky. They are all untimed and online. He has said the final will be timed and online for this semester. He has office hours in VMH and he cares and wants you to learn and ask questions if you have. Lastly, he records the lecture so overall I recommend this class.
Samuel Handwerger BMGT289D Expecting an A Anonymous 12/16/2021	This professor is HANDS DOWN the BEST professor at UMD. He is such a sweet, funny guy who makes his class so interesting for his students. He also gives so many free points here and there so it makes it easier to get an A. I thought the course had a relatively low amount of work load but this can vary from student to student. His content is so interesting and he always tells cute little stories during class. Attendance to his class is not mandatory, since he records his lecture, but I highly recommend it. He is a very cute professor and a professor you must have at least once at UMD.
Samuel Handwerger BMGT220H Expecting an A+ Anonymous 06/02/2021	Handwerger is such a sweet man. Accounting 1 is confusing and somewhat difficult, but he makes it tolerable. He may not be the best at explaining accounting topics, but he tells really funny stories and has lots of valuable experience as an accountant. There are lots of homeworks and assignments that are worth lots of points, so make sure to do them because they are essentially free points. Because of this, getting an A is pretty easy, and he wants his students to get an A.

I missed a quiz and emailed him and he let me retake it. He makes sure the workload isn't too heavy. Very highly recommend this course to anyone who can get a seat. Content is also pretty interesting and his weekly quizzes were very easy. He records all of his lectures and uploads them so live attendance isn't mandatory.

He is really knowledgeable and makes class fun and engaging. Something I appreciate about him is that he is great at providing feedback on almost every single assignment.
Samuel Handwerger BMGT289D Expecting an A Anonymous 11/20/2019	Class is honestly a breeze, he's so cute and just tells stories or talks about different aspects of crazy fraud in the business world for the whole time. Not rigorous at all. We have had like 5 homework, and they're all graded fairly easy. Plus our final is both take home/open note and a group project.
