Xiangdong Ji is one of the best professors I have had. Firstly, he is very energetic and passionate about teaching. He exudes energy and loves to tell interesting and funny stories from his life, which make lectures worth coming to on its own. In addition to covering the topics in the textbook, he also covered more advanced topics, which definitely helped me to prepare for more advanced physics classes. Although some of his homeworks are quite difficult as he makes his own questions sometimes, the tests are very easy and completely trivial compared to the homework. He has a good understanding of what makes a class engaging and what it is like to be a student. 10/10 would recommend.

Professor Ji was among the most enthusiastic teachers I have ever had. His excitement and passion for physics made the class truly enjoyable. He was also able to clearly and effectively answer any and all questions I had about the material. The main criticism I have heard is that people do not think his exams are hard enough to prepare students for the final. (When I took his class in fall 2019, the exams were almost exact transcriptions of the homework assignments.) Frankly, this is nonsense. If you know what you are doing and have a good, comprehensive formula sheet going into the exam, you will be fine.

Extremely fun to talk to and observe in class. He is very intelligent and his tests are exactly taken from the homework sets.

Probably the best professor I had of the three physics classes I had to take. His exams were fair and a generous curve was given on each one. He taught the material clearly and tried to do so without boring anyone.
